Was out and about that area this past Wednesday, so I stopped in for a link since I've never been to the store.
I thought the boudin was really good and tasty. Not a huge rice to meat ratio which is a problem with most boudin West of Crowley/Eunice.
Unfortunately they didn't have any packs of it in the cooler to haul back home, but I did grab their smoked sausage and mixed seasoning (which has a good high pepper to low salt ratio).

I was out there Wednesday too. I got them to vacuum seal 5lbs for me but they didn’t have any smoked. The fresh is good (9/10) but the smoked is the 10/10 that I keep preaching about on here. As good or better than any of the big names.

I didn’t think about asking them if they could just vacuum seal some. :bangs head:
I do enjoy smoked boudin, but I’ll usually just buy regular and smoke it myself if in the mood. Plus, I like to judge places by their regular boudin. The smoking can cover up subpar boudin.
Exhibit A being Peto’s in Roanoke. Great smoked sausage, and smoked boudin is quite tasty as well. However, it’s because they have their smoking process down really good, because the regular boudin is below average for South Louisiana.

I'm driving to Austin next weekend and I am looking to possibly make a few stops on the way back. Here are some I plan to hit...
Rabideaux's
Sonnier's
Menard's
Kartchner's (maple wraps)
Market Basket?
are there any others along the I-10 corridor that I need to hit? I've had Best Stop and Billy's a zillion times so please don't recommend those.

Give Crawfish Nest in Crowley a shot. I’m not going to say it’s some great boudin better than the Billy’s of the world, but if you’re looking for some varieties that are of decent quality, they could be on the list.

Lazy question - do any/most of these places ship? I'm not going to be down there anytime soon, but we are deprived of boudin here in middle TN.

Many do. Google the names. Lots ship.

Beat Stop ships. Done it several times and never had any issues.

I’ve got some of their chorizo boudin on the smoker right now.

I would love to see the results from the best boudin possible from Baton Rouge to Lake Charles. If you have time...

Market Basket?
probably the easiest Market Basket to get in and out right now along I10 for boudin is the Sulphur location.
You may want to try In-Laws in Iowa (north side of I10) as well. Hollier's and B&O's both in Sulphur is also pretty solid. Newer place that I haven't tried is Insane Sausages in Vinton, I believe only open on Fri-Sun.

Had Juneau’s from marksville today. It’s solid but nothing I would drive out of my way for. It’s a lot like dons or best stop. I can get that anytime
