i quit going to popeyes. the chicken is just too small for the price. i just go to a local gas station and buy the "crispy crunchy" variety and enjoy it more.

I grew up around the corner from the original one in Arabi (Da' Parish brah) and I swear there was just something about the way they cooked it. No other Popeye's has ever tasted the same.

The ones in NOLA are just so much better. The one on Magazine and Carrolton have always been really good.

You gotta respect that man for building that concept...

I always find the best in the heavily populated Africian American areas of the city...I don't know why?

+1000 on that. After living/working in NOLA for 5 years, I was shocked coming back here and really noticing the difference. I think some of it could be related to the quality of the help here as well,

Well I find BR to be the worst I have ever had for Popeyes. I think that has more to do with a cheap arse man that has the franchise here. The chicken pieces are tiny and they charge more if it has rice in it not to mention it seems to be 1-2 dollars more for the combos here?? The poeple of New Orleans would riot if they tried that in NOLA.

In Germany of course - where Chunky "A" and Lil' Sonny opened one (according to their classic "The Apology Song").

BTW there is that one little gem in Walker.. Best run Popeyes I have ever visited. Chicken was not as good as NOLA ones but everything else was perfect.. Quick order, friendly service and nothing wrong with order. Which is essentially the twighlight zone for Popeyes.

The one out here in Watson doesn't have onion rings or corn on the cob and I'm pretty sure they're using canned beef gravy on the mashed potatoes. I've sworn them off.

We have a black president now...there should be no possible excuse to riot. However, if there was one, bad fried chicken could be it.

There was a story on the news last night that a guy went to the Popeye's window on Jones Creek in BR, placed 4 different orders. picked them up and took them home.

When he got home he opened up the orders and they were all correctly filled. Amazing, but I don't believe such ridiculous fiction.

I would have to go with the Harahan store. Competent staff, quick service, good food.

I used to love to go to Super Popeyes on Vets when I was little.
