I don't get the appeal of TDB.

"Want to pay the amount you normally would on a nice meal here? It's not very good but you get A LOT of it!"

It's not excellent, but I'd say it's "good." What you're really paying for is all the variety in the different meats and cuts, not to mention there are a lot of solid options on the salad bar.

Legit the salad bar is probably the best thing they have

I don't mean that as a criticism of the meats, the salad bar is just actually pretty damn solid.

What about Does or Ruffino's for steak? Also is Salt Grass just another Roadhouse or do they have decent steaks?

Check the Doe's thread. Average at best and the steak is still $50+

I dont think Ruffinos steak is that great. Sides were bad to meh last time I was there

Had Salt Grass once in Texas. Will never go again for a steak by choice. Salt Grass is cheaper though than all the other stuff listed.

Ruths is the best steak in BR. Best sides for a steakhouse also

Flemings is very good but I just go for the burgers during happy hour

K Street has a very good steak

City Pork does a very good steak. Dont know if its a regular item though

I would just pick a great restaurant instead of your typical steak houses

Also.. yes TdB is very good. It's expensive, but as long as you can afford it, I don't know how you could walk out of there unhappy.

Being able to afford something and something being worth the cost are two very different things.

My lack of enjoying a meal at Texas de Brazil has nothing to do with my bank account and everything to do with the fact that you can get a much better meal for the same price.

I've been to Saltgrass in BR twice and I'll say I was thoroughly surprised with how much I liked my steak. More bang for your buck there than other places mentioned here.

Whatever that parmesan pork stuff is is awesome

salad bar and that is all I want

I'd probably go there a lot if I could pay 20 bucks for that meal

This may help your decision

PEOPLE ALSO ASK
What restaurants are owned by Bloomin Brands?
As of 2015, chains that the company owns and/or operates include:
Abbraccio (Brazil only).
Bonefish Grill.
Carrabba's Italian Grill ( except in Houston)
Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar.
Outback Steakhouse.

If I’m ever faced with going to TdB again, I’ll get the salad bar and no meat. The salad bar including the lobster bisque is probably the best I’ve ever seen. I’d go back for that. It’s worth it.

The meat was over salted, over cooked and meh plus I couldn’t eat that much meat at one time anyway. Not there.

See, I don't like the Saltgrass in Lafayette because the waitstaff harasses you constantly. Not only do they try to rush you through your meal, they try to sell you membership before and after. The steaks were good enough for a chain, but we won't be going back.

Same here. Plus I would rather a full steak instead of a bunch of slivers of meat.

I like Texas de Brazil about once a year at most. It's a novelty for me... the food is pretty good, but I'd rather go to Doe's and get a big steak if I want to eat a lot.
