What would be a reason to shop here? From what I've heard, they are reasonably priced, don't carry the same volume as a Costco or Sam's Club, but sell random brands (not brands like Kirkland or Sam's Choice), pay $0.25 to use a shopping cart.

Went to the one in lafayette. Wasn't that impressed. Just another bulk store. Just smaller.

You’ll be disappointed if you’re expecting a Whole Foods or Fresh Market or Trader Joe. The stores are small, but the prices are good. The first time I went I was disappointed, but I think you have to go a few times and scrutinize the aisles for things that are different. A small but interesting selection of cheeses and other little specialty items.
There are huge numbers of Aldi fans who love the products on one aisle they call the Aisle of Shame. They dress in Aldi clothes and have some kind of call and response when they are in the store.
I’ve been lucky enough not to witness this, but I do stop by every few weeks and peruse the aisles. Sometime I find good keto/low carb products to try.

It's a weird experience for sure
They carry some brand name items but majority is stuff you've never heard of
They have some deals but it reminds me of a dollar store with food items only

Most of their items are store brand, and they are not disappointing. I think quality is there, just not selection and variety, and often only one brand of some items.

Worth checking out. They have lots of semi-gourmet deli meats & cheeses, marinated artichoke hearts, olives, stuff like that. I'm not a regular shopper but like going in there a few times a year just for things like that.

Limited selection, good prices, zero frills. The employees are usually very nice.
Bring a quarter if you want a cart. They don't have bags so bring your own or grab an empty box if available.

The most recent version of Warehouse Foods from back in the day.

There's one about 1/4 mile from our house. We run there if we need to pick up a couple things because it's quick, easy, and cheap.
Plus they have a pretty decent wine called Winking Owl that's only $3.45 a bottle if I'm in a pinch.

You can now buy paper bags. Maybe .12 or something like that.

I have one right by my house. I usually drive further to Publix if I need a full grocery experience, but Aldi works for those fill-in weeks where you don't need as much.
I will say Aldi has pretty decent meat. I buy their salmon all the time. Great price and quality. I've gotten a few steaks from there as well, and they've been better than publix/kroger for less money.
Someone already mentioned the wine. They have a lot fo good value wines for everyday consumption. They also have a sparkling pear cider that my wife goes crazy for. They typically have good German beers that are much cheaper than you find elsewhere.
Their produce sometimes looks like it fell out of the back of a truck, and other times it's the best looking stuff in the world.

the place to go for a party. Cheap nuts, good selection of cheese and cured meats for a decent price.

Their take and bake pizzas are legit. I've never bought anything else from there, H-E-B is half a mile away.
Aldi reminds me of the "scratch and dent" groceries my depression eta grandmother used to shop at, along with the day old bread store.

Ours never has any clerks working so it's always a long time to check out

I've been to Central. An Ideal Market would be more successful.

Aldi is excellent if you are on a budget and seeking not to pay premium at Publix. I buy everything I can there and supple t with other stores

I'll add that the one I go to sells never frozen pork ribs from American producers...none of that Chinese produced Smithfield garbage.

I'm planning to check it out. As a long time Central resident I'm not happy that DOTD has been dragging thier useless feet on widening Sullivan Road. The traffic is already a nightmare, this and other places opening nearby will only make it worse.
I'd love to see an Ideal Market here, but we already have Oak Point which serves a similar purpose. Not sure there is enough business for both.

Thats what I liked and they seemed cheap in price. I have only been to one a couple times but the last time I was at Aldis I had people at separate times ask me if I needed a quarter for the cart as I was walking up to the store.

It’s a discount grocer
The clientele represents that
