Was raised on it in New Iberia. Don't like it. Too much vinegar. Prefer Cayenne.

Yes. Several others have more flavor that Tabasco IMO. As Zach said, less vinegar and more flavor.

i got a homemade sauce for Christmas made from tabasco peppers that puts "tabasco" to shame.

and louisiana is tops for flavor in my book

I also prefer Louisiana. That said, Chipotle Tabasco is the bomb.

several hot sauces have their place. tabasco is the best for bloody marys IMO.

While I am a huge fan of Tabasco, it is in no way the greatest contribution of the South, let alone Louisiana. Maybe the Higgins boats used to land troops on the beaches for D Day?
