Did you like it? What else do you think it would work with?

I was not originally going to submit but why not right

Smoked deviled eggs

Ignore the smoked blocks of cream cheese, which when taken off tasted like warm crème Brulee

I love a good deviled egg, did they get a lot of smoke flavor? Just curious because I've never thought to smoke them before.

I've also heard smoke cream cheese is phenomenal.

Could have topped that cream cheese with some bacon and some sort of preserves or jam. Sweet and salty!

we had some tabasco pepper jelly. The two BBQ rubs in the pic , one is a honey rub and the other has a kick.

Pig Candy - Sweet and Spicy Candied Bacon

1 pound thick-sliced applewood smoked bacon

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup white sugar

1 teaspoon dry mustard powder

1/2 teaspoon cayenne

1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Ingredients:

Combine the cayenne, ground mustard, pepper, brown sugar and sugar. Spread it on a baking shite and leave it overnight for the molasses to evaporate.

Grind up the spice mixture to eliminate any chunks for an even coat on the bacon.

Line your baking sheet with aluminum foil and place racks inside of it. If you don't line the pan the crystallization of the sugars will ruin it.

Dredge the bacon in the spice mixture and place the pieces on the racks.

Bake at 275 degrees for 1 hour. Once complete, turn up the heat to 425 degrees and remove the pan once it comes to temperature. If you leave it in for longer than that the sugars will burn.

Remove the bacon from the racks and place on parchment paper to cool.

Finished product.
