Will go into the restaurant space in the Baton Rouge Marriott.

Stinky's Fish Camp, a popular restaurant on Florida's Emerald Coast, will open its first Louisiana location this fall in the Baton Rouge Marriott on Corporate Boulevard.

The restaurant is set to open in September, taking over the dining space in the property. The Baton Rouge Marriott has been undergoing a $23 million renovation that started in early 2016 and involved expanding all 299 rooms. Stinky's will provide catering for the hotel and offer room service to guests.
Chef Jim Richard, a Lafayette native who is one of the owners and operators of Stinky's, said the restaurant serves dishes with a south Louisiana flair, such as crawfish hot tamales, fish tacos, gumbo and oysters topped with cheddar cheese and jalapeno peppers.

“We like to do things a little differently at Stinky’s: on Mondays, we serve crispy catfish meunière and white beans instead of red beans and sausage,” Richard said. “People are going to taste our food, and we know they’re going to want to come back and host their family and business functions at this great new facility that has been renovated inside and out.”

Richard's Word of Mouth Restaurant Group owns four other restaurants in Louisiana, Florida and Alabama, including Trenasse in New Orleans.

They gave me the smoked tomato tartar sauce recipe when they first opened on 30A and I've made it ever since. Great stuff.

Horrible name for a restaurant. About as original and touristy as Bubba Gump's Shrimp Co.
Embarrassing.

Tried to get in to the 30A location a few weeks ago. 1.5 hour wait at 8;45 pm...appears the name isn't hurting business there.

We were hungry and went elsewhere.

They have an app called Nowait where you can just jump on the list early and it'll contact you when your table is almost ready.

I have never been impressed with the way Floridians fry fish. What I've had has a heavy flour based batter (I prefer cornmeal) with no seasoning.

Same thing with us. We pulled up to a full crowd outside and ended up being the last people called in. Countless people drove up and walked right in. frick...but what are you going to do?

Been back since and used it many times over that area.

We really liked Seagrove this year, stayed just east of Seaside on the dirt roads back there. Barely anyone on the beach and the rentals were up by the time we got there every morning.

Pretty sure they do.

Stinky's had some pretty awesome Nola art as well as lots of old concert posters and stuff from the music scent 20 to 30 years ago.
Just a cool arse little place all around.
