So I'm trying to cut out soda

My vice has always been soda (I know, I know) and I am trying to cut it out completely. At one point I was 6-8 a day. I'm now drinking water mostly, but I still crave a Coke/Dr. Pepper with meals.
I have not been much of a wine drinker. Is there a wine that would satisfy my sweet beverage craving? I figure wine would be better than soda.

Maybe try a Riesling or Pinot Grigio.

Yeah I don't think wine is the proper substitute. Try some different flavored sparkling waters and see if there's one you enjoy.
Also, I wouldn't recommend going completely cold turkey if that's how much you were drinking cokes before. What will (in all likelihood) happen is that you'll go a while without a single coke, and then as soon as you break you'll go right back to the old routine.
Try putting a limit on how many you can have in a week, maybe 3 or so. Then stick to that. Slowly change that to 2 a week, then 1, and before you know it you won't have that constant craving for one.

Try La Croix
I have. It really helped the transition. What I am looking for is something I can enjoy at a restaurant, for example.
Plus, Ive faked my way through social situations with wine for years just because I didn't know what I would like.

This. But remember to treat it like water, not coke. What I mean by that: a lot of people don’t like La Croix because they’re comparing it to sugary soft drinks instead of other carbonated waters. You may not think it’s flavorful enough at first, but get through a whole pack and you’ll like it.
I used to crave the light burn of that carbonation, too, and La Croix filled that void in a guilt-free way.
Favorite flavors:
-Cerise Limón (Cherry Lime)
-Pamplemousse (Grapefruit)
-Cran-Raspberry

Just drink unsweetened iced tea. Has the caffeine too.

Like others said, try LaCroix but hit it with a splash of Mio. You'll get the bubbles and the sweet with none of the calories.

That's like 1500-2000 calories a day just in liquid.

this is how I completely dropped soda. I was at 3-4 cans per day, and now am coke free:

Might as well drink Diet Coke if you’re going to add Mio.

Quit that shizz cold turkey. Would you drink 6-8 beers every single day? The sugar is as bad as the alcohol.
San Pellegrino (the plain, not the fruit sodas), Topo Chico, Perrier, La Croix, or other carbonated water will give you the bubbles without the sugar/calories. Every time you crave a coke, think about how much longer you'll live without 2,000 extra calories a day ruining your metabolism.

Ask if they have sparkling waters such as Perrier, Pellegrino, etc. Yes, others may think you are a bit of a douche bag. But if you are trying to quit soda but still want the "burn", it's a nice alternative.

I've heard good things about "Zevia" and that it tastes more like a soft drink.

I just limit myself to 1 or 2 cokes a week. And when I do have one, I dont go the bullshite diet route. I find that I'm able to scratch that itch while also not pumping my body full of needless sugar every day.

I drink LaCroix, but it's still soda.
Peach Pear FTW

I’ve got the same problem as you
I was at a 12 pack a day of dr peppers or Sunkist. Now I only have one with my meals
I figure 1-2 a day won’t hurt.
