I like it. Their meat is seasoned and juicy (hence smashburger... Smashed on a flat-top)....so, if your horrified by a little grease, you may not like.
I believe it to be one of the better burger chains.
That being said; I will never spend another $1 at a Five Guys. Ive tried it 4 times at 3 different stores.... Bland, small patty, weak product. If you dig Five Guys, probably wont dig Smashburger.

I'll give it a try for a quick inexpensive burger. Maybe today.

Hit it up and report back. I have eaten at one n Tyler and Shreveport. Actually, after the 1st trip in Tyler - I inquired about a franchise. Ha. They are incredibly expensive for a burger joint..... Or atleast they were. 7 figures....

I like them much better than Five Guys...frys are pretty good, but some people don't like them since they put rosemary on them.

I like Smashburger. I've eaten it several times in Denver.

Word. The only time I've been to Smashburger was the 16th St Mall locale in Denver.

Of the boutique/trendy burger chains, Five Guys, Cheeburger, In & Out, et al, I think Smashburger is the best. Their All American burger is just what I want in a burger: it's the right size, the proportions are good, and it's executed well. The rosemarey fries are also top notch.

I've had mixed experiences... The one I ate at in Colorado was awesome. The one in Addison, TX... meh.
I like the concept of the burger being smashed on the grill... you get a little of the Maillard Reaction throughout the patty. They just seem to struggle with consistency.

What are their hours?
This would be good to satisfy my post-bulldog drinking nights.

The spicy one with fresh jalaps is money.
It's not like there's a HUGE difference b/t all of these places, but Smashburger is noticeably better than the rest imo

Smashburger, the nation’s fastest growing “better burger” restaurant, brings its fresh approach to burgers to New Orleans when it opens its doors to the public, Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 3300 Magazine Street. Smashburger brings its juicy burgers that are smashed fresh and served delicious, along with its Haagen-Dazs® shakes, tempting sides and regional menu items crafted to please the palates of locals and visitors alike.
“It is with great pride that we introduce Smashburger to New Orleans’ historic Uptown neighborhood,” said Tom Ryan, Smashburger Founder and Chief Concept Officer. “This restaurant will be the first of its kind in Louisiana and will pay homage to its new home with a menu as unique as New Orleans.”
Each Smashburger location features a regional menu created with local flavors and tastes in mind. The New Orleans menu includes:
NOLA Smashburger (100% premium angus beef, Creole mustard sauce, shredded leaf lettuce, fried green tomato, mayo and Swiss cheese on an egg bun.)
NOLA Smashchicken (100% tender marinated chicken breast, Creole mustard sauce, shredded leaf lettuce, fried green tomato, mayo and Swiss cheese on an egg bun.)
Andouille Sausage Sandwich (Chef Paul Prudhomme’s Andouille with grilled onions and Creole mustard sauce on a poppy seed bun.)
Cajun Smashfries (Smashfries tossed with Chef Paul Prudhomme’s® Magic Seasoning Blends®.)
Debris Fries (Cajun Smashfries topped with roast beef debris gravy with grated cheddar cheese.)
Nectar Shake
“We are excited to introduce the fresh and savory flavors of Smashburger to one of the culinary capitals of the world, New Orleans,” said local owner Amit Patel.
At Smashburger, the secret is in the smash. It starts with 100-percent – fresh, never frozen, Premium Angus Beef and is smashed on a 375 degree flat grill to sear in the juicy flavor. To further the “better burger” experience, the delicious burgers are served on a toasted artisan bun and topped with a selection of the freshest produce, real cheeses, and highest-quality condiments.
Smashburger’s signature recipes and create your own burgers are smashed fresh, served delicious every time. But Smashburger is more than just burgers. Customers can also enjoy a selection of tender marinated grilled or crispy chicken sandwiches, grilled and split hot dogs, and fresh tossed signature salads, along with a variety of irresistible sides including rosemary and garlic–seasoned Smashfries, fried pickles, Haystack Onions, and Veggie Frites (flash-fried and seasoned carrot sticks and green beans). The restaurant will also serve a selection of non-alcoholic beverages including hand-spun Häagen-Dazs shakes and IBC® root-beer floats in frosted mugs.
“We are excited to be expanding our market within the Southeast region, especially in a city that is known for its food and hospitality,” said David Prokupek, Chairman and CEO of Smashburger.

The one over here is nasty. McDonalds would have been a better choice.

If Smashburger opens in BRLA, it will quickly become my go to place. I have been to a number of them in Houston and always had a great burger. Love the blue cheese. The Smash fries are awesome. McDonalds

At the one in Shreveport, one of their featured burgers is the Louisiana Smash burger. Grilled onions, american cheese, remoulade sauce, lettuce and tomato. Love it.

I will get to it the time after the next time I am in the area. I want to hit Diva Dog first. I had passed Dat Dog, and had Diva on my mind, then I saw Freret St donuts had a roast chicken dish with green beans and garlic potatoes with french bread and a drink for $8 and snatched that up.
They can cook some meats there, if you haven't had their burger or RB poboy you need to try it.
ETA, it's a chain? I'll still try it, but man we have some great local burgers. Three great ones on a block of Freret, then Cowbell and Tru(its okay but has great toppings). Even the one at Rock in Bowl was pretty good. Uptown has some choices for Dogs.
But I am still partial to BooKoo and really like to try the new burgers Lee comes up with,
