Put him on some Keith Whitley and fill his belly. He'll PTFO.

What is your stance on a customer with too much cologne? What about old ladies that have that god awful smell? Those smells are offensive and linger the entire time they are there. The ecig person is very sporadic and temporary. Honest question.

Ignorant. It's my job to make sure people like you are happy in my restaurant. I have no desire to make a scene if its not necessary but we are getting an increase in guest complaints whether they know its not real smoke or not.

I understand that we are talking about potentially offensive smells, but I'm not sure this is comparing apples to apples. Even if its odorless, it seems that the general public is put off by the sight of people blowing "smoke" in the area of their food.

It would only bother me if I was at a nice place. If I was eating a pizza or burger somewhere it wouldn't bother me at all, I probably wouldn't even notice it.

Many things we see in every day life are offensive. How would you react if I called you over and asked that the lady at the table next to me was moved because she smells offensive?
I'm just curious as to why we cave in to these people who are so "offended" nowadays. They wouldn't have made it through the 70's or previous years.

Picking your nose and eating it emits no scent, so that would be ok in a restaurant, right?

To me it's along the same lines as a real cigarette smoker in a restaurant that allows it. Not blowing the vapors or smoke in anybody's direction is common courtesy.
Somebody could discretely smoke one of those things 2 feet from you, and you would never know.

Incredibly trashy. Surely you can refrain from nicotine for an hour.

Unacceptable. Those things put out a smell & you shouldn't be imposing your habit on other people. Poor taste & if you're so addicted to something that you can't even sit through a meal without having it, then stay home because no one else enjoys your addiction. In a bar, that's a different setting with different expectations.

In my experience, if you ask a guest to refrain from smoking them, they get all pissy and explain that its not real smoke.
This is the exact reason they do it, attention whores.

I'd rather have someone vaping at the table next to me than talking on their cell phone. Would you restaurant owners ask someone to hang up if another patron complained?
As I said I don't vape in restaurants but people who get all pissy about it need thicker skin IMO.

I just let a nice one cheek sneak out and tell them that e cig smells like shite.

my mom was smoking one on mothers day in a nice restaurant we were at. She asked what i thought and i bluntly told her i thought it looked tacky.
The chef and owner(who is a prominent nola chef) came out a little while longer to shoot the shite, being an old friend, and my mom asked his thoughts. He said he didn't care. Even thought about selling them in his bar area.
