What is the FDB's opinion on this? Wondering what the general public feels about people that smoke these things in the middle of a restaurant dining room, or bar? When it happens in my restaurant, people seem uncomfortable and most think its a real cigarette. In my experience, if you ask a guest to refrain from smoking them, they get all pissy and explain that its not real smoke.

Personally, as an ex-smoker, I think that they have no place in restaurants. Lots of them still put out a smell and I don't want that stuff around my food or me when I sit down to dinner. Wondering if the LRA will be trying to lobby for or against them in the future...?

I've used one for over a year. I've never used it in a restaurant because I think it would be in poor taste. Bars are a different animal. I have no issue using it there and have never been told to put it away.

I tend to agree. Any place you can't smoke a regular cigarette, you shouldn't smoke an e-cig.

I generally don't care as long as they don't have any scent. I know some do and some don't.

As long as they aren't emitting any scent, I don't know why anybody would care.

When I used one I wouldn't ever use it in a non-smoking restaurant/section. I really think the people that go out of their way to vape in an "non-smoking" area are just doing it in hopes of getting some sort of reaction.

As I'm typing this, I can think of one time I actually used my e-cig at a restaurant and that was in Florida on an outdoor patio. I don't think you can smoke in an outdoor setting in Florida. My server even talked to me about it (inquiring as a smoker) but didn't ask me not to or anything, he didn't seem to give a shite. Truth be told...I had just recently started and was trying to quit cigarettes and enjoyed people talking to me about it

If they have no smell, why the problem? I don't smoke or smoke these things, but I can't see why there would be a problem with it.

I have an employee that smokes these in her office, and she apologized when I saw her smoking it, but I could honestly care less. Nobody can smell it and the emissions are just vapor, so it doesn't bother anybody.

However, I do think they look pretty feminine when I see a guy smoking them, so there's that.

Never heard the feminine thing before but I could honestly not care less. Damn thing saved my life. I used it daily at first but now I just keep it for emergency cravings.

Yeah I don't blame you. I wouldn't care either and it honestly is probably just because I've only really noticed women smoking them.

I've heard that from a couple of people.

Saw a guy in Alexander's Market the other day with spiked blonde hair, affliction shirt, lots of gold bling, white sunglasses on the back of his neck, Bluetooth in the ear, sucking on an aluminum e cig.

And my fricking phone was charging in my car.

I have an e cig, but I've never used it inside a public place. Don't care for the attention, and I can wait until I can step outside or leave.

Not surprising... Seems like most people i see with these are pretty douche-like and/or trashy.

Man I hope soon I'm getting the itch bad... If my son would learn how to sleep through the night, I'll be able to get a sitter here and we'll hit the road.
