Jambalaya being cooked for 10-12 Californians tonight. I’m usually cool with a big bowl of jambalaya back home washing it down with an ice cold lager.

Suggestions?

White beans and salad are the go-to but any vegetable works fine. For weeknight jambalaya, I heat a bag of frozen veggies and get a pack of Hawaiian rolls.

Red beans! I mix it all together on my first serving and separate for seconds.

When people say white beans here, what type are we talking? Great northern?

For gods sake. New Orleans might as well be in Rhode Island. People from there don’t know shite about shite

This is like asking what is a good aide for a hamburger

For this crowd may want to go with needle and spoon bread.

And they’re from California, so you may get the “why would you serve a carb with a carb, and another carb? (bread). Just try to tune out that noise.

White beans and make it easy on yourself and go with Bluerunner.

I do 50/50 Bluerunner original and New Orleans style.

It’s Monday. Why are you cooking Jambalaya?

Red beans and rice. The greatest tradition.
