Surprised nobody has mentioned Vic's on the River.
Nice place, good food.

I’ve only been to Vic’s at lunch time but agree that it’s a great spot. Circa 1875 is another good option that flies under the radar.

Random question for anyone that's been to both: would you recommend Husk in Charleston or Savannah?

They have some rare bottles of bourbon there, but overall I thought their bourbon prices were way high. I stuck to wine that night.

I would not recommend Husk in Charleston anymore - it has gone downhill from 5-6 years ago and there are too many good other options in town to waste a dinner there.

I would recommend going to the Husk bar either for a drink or for lunch since they still have a great burger and pimento cheese

There are >10 restaurants in Charleston I would rather go above Husk there

The dining scene in Savannah is less mature, so I'd imagine Husk there is probably still top 10 I had a fine meal there about 4 years ago so who knows where it is now

Oysters Rockefeller, Salmon and Duck breast and leg confit. Beautiful space and excellent service. Sorry about picture quality, it was candle lit with a gorgeous vase of fresh flowers.

Not sure if this is a normal occurrence but, it happened the last two times we visited Savannah. So we went to the pink house for dinner and put our name in with the receptionist. She gave us a 1hour wait time so we left to go get drinks before we returned for dinner.

As we were walking away, I convinced my wife to follow me down the set of stairs just to the left of the pink house main entrance (the Planters Tavern entrance). I opened the door and after stepping inside, a server asked us how many and showed us to a table.

The first time it happened I thought it was just coincidence or good timing on our part. So, fast forward a few months and we are in Savannah, again. And we go to the pink house, again. And there's a long wait, again. So we walk down the stairwell to the Planters Tavern and get seated immediately, again...

I may have just spoiled my pink house hack but, I was wondering if anyone else had a similar experience?

P.s. get the fried oysters with green goddess dressing if they're on the menu.

Didn't want to start a new thread, but wife and I should be getting to our hotel and ready for dinner around 7:30pm. Had a long day and looking for good food, but nothing too buttoned up / fancy - any recommendations?
