Yep, which is awesome because everyone has their phone.

Still not sure why the vaccination card wasn't made small enough to fit in a wallet.

Its amazing how hypocritical and stupid some of you idiots are! What is the Owner suppose to do?

1. They are trying to protect their employees and not have to shut down or lay people off and not have them need to file for unemployment!

2. Ah yes unemployment, cut it off and make those lazy bums go back to work! But If I have to wear a mask or get vaccinated to keep them employed I'm out!

Just foolishness and talking out the side out your mouths.

Saffron is trying to stay open and contribute to the economy. Which is what anyone with common sense would want. But you guys want everyone to boycott them, they are trying to protect their employees!

All you idiots need to remember that all this freedom we have in this country wasn't cost free! Sacrifices had to be made. This realization has been lost and its all about I'm gonna do what I wanna do and everyone else be damned!

So in closing I am 100% against forced vaccination! But I'm not gonna try and destroy a business for trying to protect their employees over it! I wanna know what all you self righteous A-holes, would do if you were the owner of Saffron NOLA?
We need solutions not defiance, but I'm sure as per the norm yall will just downvote. Because not one of you have any of the former!

me either, they can do what they want, regardless if its virtual signaling or for safety purposes.

Nice melt. Saffron is not doing anything but virtue signaling and playing their little role in “forcing” people to get 2 shots of something they don’t want. You want to eat here? Go get your jabs. I do agree as a private business they have the right to refuse service to whoever they want. Just as that would be patron has the right to tell them to frick off. That’s freedom.

That’s not. I have to do things I don’t want to do just because you want me to. Not freedom.

By alienating a chunk of potential customers. Smart business plan.

News flash comrade, wearing a diaper on your face to walk to your table then pulling it off isn’t doing a fricking thing. I personally don’t thing the mask is doing a fricking thing anyway. But the charade you have to do in a restaurant really isn’t doing anything.

I’m vaccinated. I weighed my options and decided to do it. Others are weighing their options and deciding not to. People don’t know what to believe. The whole thing has been bungled, mismanaged and politicized to
the point where people are opting to do the exact opposite of what they’re being told because they don’t trust the people screaming at them. And why should they? Who’s to say they’re right. What’s the next tune they’ll have to dance to, or freedom they’ll have to give up. Where does it stop? What other silly charade will we be forced to do, or papers we’ll be forced to produce, or services will we be denied all because our government tell us to? This is a slippery slope way more complex than your assessment alludes.

I had to show proof of vaccination to go to public school in central Louisiana in the mid-70s. Parents didn’t cry, stamp their feet like babies or throw around terms like “socialism” without knowing what they meant. We managed to use vaccines to beat back polio and smallpox. Why were people adults about that back in the early part of the 20th Century? Now we have a huge percentage of the population acting like toddlers.

Did you have to show proof of a rushed vaccine, without long term research, with no FDA approval, that may or may not be work, that was built to combat a man made virus created in a Chinese lab?

I would probably realize that tons of people who are vaccinated have Covid at the current moment, because the vaccine lessens symptoms and keeps you out of the hospital but does not keep you from catching it or spreading it.

Seriously, I have 3 vaccinated friends currently at home with Covid. They're all doing great because of the vaccine, which is great, but they could theoretically waltz into Saffron and flash their card to dine in. How is that keeping staff safe?

If this is truly for safety of the staff and patrons, they'd be Covid testing people at the door. And since the rapid test isn't accurate (mine said negative when I had Covid), even that wouldn't work.

Intentions might be in the right place, but it isn't actually doing anything for staff safety.

EDIT - Curious of their long term plan too. We all know these are just a shot that has an expiration of effectiveness, right? So what does 2023 look like? Are we still checking vaccine cards? I assume people's 2021 shot won't be valid because its 2 years old.. Are we checking for the shot to be within 6 months of the current date? Same year?

It just seems like a poorly thought out plan. Surely these places won't be checking vaccine cards for eternity and dealing with all that goes into boosters and whatnot? That can't be sustainable. Are they just waiting for Covid to fade out?

If the pandemic persist, then I would guess yes. There will be a time period in which the vaccine is deemed effective.

Similar to checking ID for alcohol.

This statement is just not true! Tons of vaccinated people still getting covid would mean that the vaccine is not effective. A factual statement would be that a small % of vaccinated people are still getting Covid.

You have a point, but to make your point you want to point out, the least likely of the factors that would present the problem. Nothing is 100%, but human nature when we are against something we'll tout what makes our point! If something works 9 out of 10 times, but if the one time it didn't is in line with their point of view. That's what the are gonna promote.

Then why is he doing it? He's clearly taking a risk that people will boycott his restaurant because of his stance.
What other motive would he have?

Hate that you and I see this so differently, usually love your post! I hope you wont hold a grudge. I know I wont.

He might actually gain customers who dont want to be around the un-vaccinated. But you'd never be able to see this on that one-way street you're driving on.

And Finally the Village Idiot has shown up all full of piss and vinegar, full of defiance but not a solution.

All I'm saying is if you don't want to patronize Saffron, because of this choice that's your right. But to stand on the street corner a preach that everyone else should do it also is BS!!

Pretty smart if it decreases the chance of someone walking in that's is COVID+ and transmitting it to staff causing shut downs. It's not like the workers have sick days, vacation days, or other salaried benefits. If these employees aren't able to go into work then they don't get paid. Not like regular 9-5 jobs where I get an allotment of sick days or other benefits I can rely upon if I am sick or if the office is closed.

Of course not! I'm not like that. Been disagreeing with people on here for years, but I'll still chat it up with the person in the next thread. I don't let that stuff get to me.

LL, that was my question as well. A vaccination does not prevent you from catching or spreading the virus, so why demand to see a card that doesn't prove shite about you actually having COVID? Proof of vaccination is ludicrous and would be funny, if not so Orwellian.

It’s starting to be clear that the vaccine does none of these things. It just helps you to have reduced symptoms and get over being sick faster if you catch it. Maybe your staff being vaccinated might help them to miss fewer days if they get sick, but it won’t stop people from spreading it.
