Never ever order anything called, CAJUN, NEW ORLEANS STYLE. Anywhere 40miles north of I-10 or out of the state of Louisiana.
Best shrimp poboy I ever had was at a place called Tommy Jacks in Laramie, Wyoming

Yoder's parking lot in Sarasota ais not a giant. They do have food worthy of a parking garage.

One of the best ways to garner a bunch of DVs is to make a list on the internet. Even if it doesn't include any edgelord opinions if the list is long enough it will have at least one entry that that each individual thinks is dead wrong.

Never eat at a restaurant with MOM’s, AUNT’s, Granny’s in the name
I disagree with this. There is a taco place in Austin named Granny's that is fantastic.

Never give a coonass a rule when it comes to food.
Although one thing is true.
If it has tomatoes in it, it's probably probably delicious, but it ain't gumbo.

Try something new should be a rule

Eat where you see old people eating.

Old people usually eat terrible food.
Also, if old people are there it’s usually cheap, and they give you a ton of it.

quote: you go to a Smokehouses/BBQ place look for a place with a large parking lot.. places with bad food don’t need a lot of places to park Might be the worst advice in this list and that's saying something
I agree, this is bad advice. Grayson’s in Clarence, Louisiana has a very small parking lot and is some of the best BBQ pork ribs in the state.
Coopers BBQ in Llano, tx has a very small parking lot is the best BBQ I’ve ever had.
I would say that the more run down looking the place is, that’s the place you get BBQ from

I don't order Louisiana food outside the triangle. Lake Chuck to ellic, to Nola. Basically.

Joke's on you. Our Mom's in BR is delicious.

6) You should probably avoid eating anything that is advertised as “World Famous”
To be honest I don't think I've ever seen a lot of "world famous" restaurant signs, but you could miss out on some good unique food living and dying by this rule.

There’s a soul food place in Monroe called mommas that’s frickin gas. … but shits fire.
Indeed. Also OP has really never traveled anywhere. The majority of the US is North of I-10 and there are really fine restaurants in places north. It may not have jambalaya and ponce, but still good food nonetheless.
Monroe / West Monroe gets a bad rap but Crawfish City in West Monroe is hands down the best crawfish in the State at a place to eat them (private boils excluded). Fontenot’s in Monroe is owned by a family from Eunice. They make their own boudin, and their dishes are great. The Mohawk has literally been there since 1953 with no changes and their raw oysters are as big as your fist. Don’t forget fine dining like Parish, where the owner won Chopped, and finished 3rd on Food Network Star food is impressive there.
Yes NOLA and Lafayette have great / better food but this OP needs to get out of his box and take a fricking road trip.

I went to the original Lambert’s in Sikeston, MO, and it wasn’t bad for what it is. It’s not fine dining, but it’s good for the price.

quote:Not true. At the Scott exit there are Billy's, Kartchners, Best stop and Nunu's . Best Stop is the smallest and oldest and I'm going there last of the four I mentioned.
3) if you stop to get Boudin/Crackin and there is a group of 5 or more boudin/crackin shops in a 1mile area go to the smallest one that looks the oldest

Only by retards. Monroe punches way above its weight in terms of good local restaurant options.
