Ruffinos is not nearly as inedible as the board makes it out to be I like going sit at the bar when I’m solo.

My favorite thing to order (it isn’t on the menu but they serve it still) is the appetizer sampler. It’s small samples sizes of the arancini, crab cheesecake, the braised pork cheeks over purée sweet potato, and BBQ shrimp and grits.

They do a porkchop special pretty regularly with some kind of garlic sauce. It's incredible but will give you explosive diarrhea

Go to Gino's, Palermo or Digiulios.

All good picks, but Digiulios is always a little difficult to get a table - but it would be my 1st choice

OP asks for recommendations for a restaurant that he/she may or may not have any say as to whether they are going or not. Could be multiple people and someone else made the choice and reservation.

Yet multiples posters reply with "______ is better!"

My recommendation is to go somewhere else. Another BR place many seem to love, but I think way over priced and bad food. Can't remember ever having a better than mediocre meal there.

I must admit, Ruffino’s apps are better than their entrees.
As someone already said, get the “Taste of Ruffino’s”.
It’s crabmeat cheesecake, braised cheek meat, arancini, and New Orleans bbq shrimp & grits.

As far as entrees go, they do have a damn good filet mignon.

The venom n here is way off base. Ridiculous. Ruffinos is solid. I eat there a lot but think their non-italian entrees are best (I understand the perception of it being an “italian” restaurant).

Most apps are solid.... tuna, cheeks, arencini,

Fish Katie, Cedar Plank, Pork TChop, Ribeye, are all very good.

Don’t let the haters kill ur trip.

I must have missed the train when this board suddenly decided Ruffinos wasn’t good food

I do wish they still had the cannelloni on their menu, not sure why they ever took it off

I agree. I’ve never thought of Ruffino’s as an Italian restaurant. I think of it more of a New Orleans style restaurant run by Italians, therefore, it has some Italian dishes.
