Turbodog in 1995 freshman year at LSU. I still have a soft spot on my palate for it.

Rolling Rock was pretty much considered craft beer in Mississippi in the early 90s.

Drank a lot of Bass Ale back when distro’s were not getting in stuff like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale until a bit later. When Sierra Nevada was available I would live on that.

Shiner, black lager.

I fell in love.

To this day, I like ambers, I'll tolerate an IPA, I love Envie.

But a nutty ale is my favorite.

5 downvotes for OP

Don’t like Terrapin?
Don’t like Terrapin Rye Pale Ale?
Don’t like Twain’s?
Don’t like that I still like Terrapin Rye Pale Ale?

Just have to know! Haha!

Abita was most certainly craft in the late 80' and early 90's. I enjoyed Turbodog as far back as 1988 and it used to scare my friends. Now it is not near as heavy as lots of brown ales.

First one ever was probably a Pilsner at the Cresent City Brewhouse on Decatur in the French Quarter circa 1994. In 1996 or so, there was The Brewhouse in Thibodaux where Fremins is now. Come to find out, that Brewing Equipment is now at Spigots in Houma.

I really don't even know. I'm thinking Shiner Bock That might not really be a craft brew, but it was to me 20 years ago.

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale in the mid 80's. I moved to Massachusetts and began drinking Sam Adams and Harpoon back when they were local craft beer (around '87).

I found Bert Grant's IPA in the early 90's and it took me up another level.

My beer of this nature was the Old Rasputin Imperial Stout. At 9.0% I thought I was drinking a Guinness with a shot of vodka in it.

Enjoy it now.
