Brown sugar? Are you sure you are making red beans? Brown sugar is for baked beans (pork-n-beans).

My decipher is that he basically wants us to make him a recipe for red beans and that is somewhat his list. Dunno if that means that this is all the ingredients he has on hands and it must be from that though
My recipe:
Put all ingredients in crackpot
Turn on

I’ll never put beans on the stove again
30 mins in instantpot vs hours on the stove

I can’t replicate what I can do on the stove with a crockpot. Not sure why

I doctored up some Blue Runner beans about a week ago, took 30 minutes and tasted like it had cooked all day.

1 lb smoked sausage sliced
1 container of Guidrys trinity
1 lb red beans rinsed
4.25 cups of water
2 bay leaves
Tonys to taste
Garlic powder to taste
Throw all ingredients into crockpot and mix. Cover and cook on low for 7 hours. Remove about 1/4 of the beans, smash in bowl, and return to crockpot. Cook an additional 30 minutes on low uncovered. Serve with rice and enjoy

Go to camellia beans website, they have some slow cooker recipes. Do not use brown sugar please.

and if you don't add a little liquid smoke to your beans you're definitely missing out

This exact recipe is sitting on my counter cooling off to go in the fridge.
2 lbs camelia red beans
3 ribs celery small dice
2 medium onions small dice
1 green bell pepper small dice
6 nice cloves garlic chopped
4 big smoked ham hocks
20 cups good chicken broth
Put it all in heavy pot, boil and stir regularly but gently an hour or two, add water to keep the level at 20 or so cups, then simmer until beans are soft and it starts to thicken. Kill heat and let them set for a while. Remove hocks, pull meat/discard the rest and return meat to pot. Give a quick stir. Done. Use a little Tony's at the table.
