Does anyone have any experience with the recteq grills? I am thinking of purchasing one and wanted users opinions on them.

Anecdotal evidence only: my coworker has one and raves about it. The ribs and brisket he’s cooked for us was excellent.

All I got.

Oh and there’s a thread on this page where Tigerdaddd gushes about his Recteq. Review that thread for more info.

Ignore people who say pellet grills are just ovens, they use wood pellets as a fuel source and an internal probe which controls air flow to keep a steady temp. Gas grill is closer to an oven.

I also have a RecTec 590 and its the best grill I have ever owned. Tank, heavy stainless steel. Even the small parts are stainless steel and a terrific warranty

The grill produces outstanding bbq. You can also sear, getting it to around 600 with the grill grates (separate purchase) at 700.

In addition it has something called extreme smoke at lower temps that produces quite a bit of smoke.

I have the Bullseye and I absolutely love it. It’s so easy and everything it puts out is better than anything I’ve cooked on a gas or charcoal grill. I’ve done everything from ribs and pork butt to salmon and it’s all been really good. One day I’ll likely get the 700 to go along with the Bullseye.

I came this close to buying the 700 last year when I bought my camp chef woodwind 36. Same price range and I couldnt go wrong either way. Rec tec craftsmanship and durability is A1

Have the Bull (700) and super impressed. Made a built in for outdoor kitchen. Still need a gas grill or charcoal for searing, but temp control and consistency is unmatched for smoking.

Well worth it. Oh and customer service is unmatched.

Bought the bull last June. I messaged some people on the rec tec facebook page that were in KC area and one of them let me come over and look at his before I bought one. I was sold the minute I lifted the lid. Heavy duty construction, thing holds temp so damn good. 40lb hopper, stainless steel and best customer service in the biz. You can't go wrong.

I'm down to either the Weber SmokeFire or the Rec Tec Bull next month if the snow melts. I do genuinely think the Gen2 Webers resolved many of the launch issues so I'm not worried about those. Trying to figure out which one genuinely imparts more smoke and holds temps more consistently.

If I’m going to spend 1200+ on a pellet grill, I’m going Pitts & Spitts.

The problem is that at $1200 your still $500 short of their cheapest grill. Great grills, just not in the same price range

Their CS dept is awesome, I have a bullseye and had to replace the control board, no ?'s asked just sent me a new one. That was 2 years after I bought it.

One thing is the lid temp probe is WAY off, but everyone uses probes anyway. Just a thought

Have had my 700 Bull almost 2 years. Wouldn't trade it for any other and like has already been said, CS is the best you can find. Only issue I had is with the wheels, I did the wheel mod and couldn't be happier with it. I do move the grill around a lot as I have no where outside that is covered to store it, so that contributed to the wheel failure.
