re: Recteq Grills - Tygermanjohn on 2/16/21 at 7:18 pm
Have the Bull (700) and super impressed. Made a built in for outdoor kitchen. Still need a gas grill or charcoal for searing, but temp control and consistency is unmatched for smoking. Well worth it. Oh and customer service is unmatched. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Pool heaters part II - Tygermanjohn on 1/23/21 at 7:58 am
I can’t tell you exactly cost per hour, but my bill went from about $50 per month to like $135 in December. Kid wanted a swimming birthday party so pretty much kept the heater running all weekend for her. Wife uses the hot tub 2 to 3 times a week. This is the first weekend I am heating the whole...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Pool heaters part II - Tygermanjohn on 1/20/21 at 9:50 am
Have a 400k BTU natural gas heater on my 15k gallon pool/spa. Heats up about 1.5 degree per hour. I think electric would take much longer in talking to friends that have electric. Not sure of exact cost of heater as was part of spa package. I think I paid $25 per foot for the gas line and they a...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Pool Chaise Lounges - Tygermanjohn on 1/20/21 at 4:13 am
Search this, Adirondack Chair by Leisure Line I couldn’t post hyperlink. They also have bar top height set up with a table attached. Website only shows blue and gray now, but warehouse had gray in stock this weekend. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Pool Chaise Lounges - Tygermanjohn on 1/19/21 at 7:09 am
I picked up three deck chairs from Costco. A little more plain than what a goodwood hardware would sell, but plastic composite in like 6 different colors. $169 online, but have gray in the store for $129. Solid build as they weight 40 pounds each. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Any kitchen appliance brands to avoid? - Tygermanjohn on 1/16/21 at 5:56 am
Avoid Samsung like the plague. Had a Samsung fridge/freezer that the panel broke after a couple of years and was useless. Had a Samsung washing machine that flooded part of my house, and cause 30k in damage. Plastic component cracked off the bottom of the tub and allowed the water to literally run...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Smoker Sunday - Tygermanjohn on 12/21/20 at 1:25 pm
If you are talking about the membrane - Costco ribs don’t have a membrane typically on back ribs. They leave membrane on St. Louis style. Also, new owner of Rec Teq and been super impressed. Super consistent ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Pit Boss Pellet Grill - Tygermanjohn on 12/17/20 at 10:12 am
Look into RecTeq... higher cost up from but better warranty, 6 years “bumper to bumper” on my 700. Most people I know that went pit boss have gotten 3 years out of them. Recteq’s are built like a tank, all stainless steel ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Cool pool items - Tygermanjohn on 12/12/20 at 7:40 am
Rafael did my pool. Finished in September. Good people but just like any pool company you gotta stay on them. Probably a little tougher for us cause we are close to BR, but they were very fair and pool came out fantastic. We actually are having a pool party today for my daughters birthday. Got t...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: What refrigerator brand to buy? - Tygermanjohn on 12/6/20 at 7:14 am
We just bought a Whirlpool under same scenario. Garage fridge went out, but wife wanted French door style on main fridge. We got one with French doors, and a separate drawer for cold storage which is nice. I would suggest looking at Costco if you have a membership. The setup we bought was $350 c...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: What will be your next grill/smoker purchase? - Tygermanjohn on 12/3/20 at 6:44 am
Look into the RecTeq line. Picked one up recently and super impressive. I went with 700 for extra pellet capacity and 6 year warranty. It is built like a tank, and temp control is perfect after first burn in. Lots of clean smoke produced. Only issue with it is switching out pellets is not easy, ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Give me your Nola area pool contractor recommendations - Tygermanjohn on 9/18/20 at 5:39 am
If looking for inground gunite we Just started up our pool last night with La Pool and Spa’s off Clearview, Rafael and Kim Namer. I live in BR area, but they do pools across South La. The process was frustrating at times, but demand is crazy right now. Delay for gunite is biggest issue as wait i...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Best Pool Builders GNO Area? - Tygermanjohn on 7/26/20 at 10:31 am
I am using a builder from Nola area, on a Baton Rouge build. If interested I can send you details of what we are doing, and pricing and refer you to them. So far been pleased with their work, a lot of it is uncontrollable given demand, summer rain, and Covid. They were recommended to me by a friend,...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Pool contractor question - Tygermanjohn on 7/23/20 at 9:46 pm
Yeah, we looked at fiberglass. We went With gunite cause of an odd shaped yard, with some servitude’s. The only way to get good size was going gunite. Pool prices were largely about the same, but we added fountain and 8 foot hot tub to ours. My neighbors will be swimming in our pool often, so th...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Pool contractor question - Tygermanjohn on 7/23/20 at 7:10 pm
I would say if you signed a contract today for gunite pool they may get It done by end of the year. We are waiting on gunite now in BR area. They are supposed to try this weekend, but with weather this weekend I doubt it. Our builder doesn’t have a new dig date till end of October, and that is ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (3)
re: RV lots - Tygermanjohn on 1/9/20 at 12:13 pm
There is a large section of RV's on Poydras and Clara, but all are private groups. Yes, the plan is two have a projector set up I believe for those that have reserved RV spots in the lot. I am not sure how everyone is handling entry to the lot though. Most of the big tailgate groups are wristband...
