Maybe got his first commitment? Stealing from Jay???
In the park tonight as well! Decent amount of purple and gold here for Skenes and Bregs…. Sitting on 3rd base line but doesn’t look like a bad seat in the house.
We have them for homeowners. Easy claims process with IDA roof damage once we had adjustor assigned. No issues and just normal rate increases that everyone is doing.
Extreme Ownership
Never Split the Difference
Measure of a Man
Doesn’t make it any less tragic, but the daughter that was there last night was the Aunt of the Bourbon Street victim.
We were out there last night when it went down. Chaos started right outside of Common Grounds, and driver continued up 4th street hitting another car, then finally hitting the car with the fatalities on opposite end of the block from Common Grounds.

The daughter came run toward common grounds while good Samaritans ran to help. She was obviously and understandable hysterical. She was in shock, and kept saying her dad had just gotten out of the car. She didn’t say anything about her mom, only that her dad had been hit, and she could see him like that.

The area was more crowded than normal because of the kids mardi gras parade earlier in the day.

Terrible evening…. Prayers to the family.
Good light show in Old Dutchtown subdivision off Prairieville Exit. About four houses together synchronized. Plus lots of other lights in the neighborhood, but the synchronize show is the main attraction. they have Santa Claus and the Grinch Typically on weekends

Read “Die with Zero” then decide whether to stay or build.
Start by reading “the simple path to wealth” by JL Collins…. Good beginner breakdown of slow and steady approach and different account types.

The best day to start investing is today, the next best day to start is tomorrow. Don’t wait to get started!

Buy the City Pass, get a deal on different attraction and don’t have to stand in line day you get there. We did Zoo and Midway, but pretty sure options for LegoLand and Seaworld as well.

I wish we had more time in La Jolla, really cool spot.
Correct, heirs would have the 10 year draw down but would not be a taxable “event” as far as I understand it.
We are in our early 40s and our guy is advising the same thing. When he first mentioned it, I thought he was crazy, but the model has us thinking it’s the right thing to start doing. I was a difference of about 3 million in taxes paid over the model to age 90.

I switched this year to Roth 401k contributions from traditional, and will start converting our traditional 401k over the next decade or so at the top of each bracket.

Couple things we are considering to pay taxes now:

Already mentioned potential loss of spouse and impact on tax brackets
Tax free (with no 10 year RMD) for heirs
Lower bracket for Medicare and health insurance
ABC Canopy online. Solid tents (mine going on 8 years) and have multiple sizes. We have (3) 10 by 20’s for tailgated. Cost like $350 each.

We were in Vegas this year for Labor Day. It is one of the busiest weekends on the strip.

A heavy LSU presence and lots of SC fans in the area will drive up price of hotels, tickets, and flights.
