Anybody buying Boudin on Florida Blvd in Baton Rouge instead of from a hole in the wall in Lafayette or Acadia parish has no idea what the hell they are talking about.
The original Ronnie's owner was related to the family that owns Best Stop. I don't think it's that unbelievable that the product put out by Ronnie's could be close in quality to the Best Stop product. I'm not saying it's the same, but it's pretty damn good for not having to drive to Scott.

If you gonna go to Scott might as well bring your biggest ice chest and stop at best stop, billys, dons and karchners.
Don’t sleep on Nunu’s. About 47 1/2 different flavors of sausage. All delicious.

For my taste the best boudin is from Mikey’s in Estherwood. They opened one in Crowley just recently.
Thanks for the tip. I’ll have to try it.
Is it the usual style of boudin from Acadia or Jeff Davis, where it’s a bit ricier than the boudins from Lafayette and St Landry Parish?

In BR, Tramonete's does a pepper jack italian sausage that is damn good.

Veron's has a, I think they call it boudin blanc or white boudin, no rice. It tastes like liver sausage my german granmother used to make. If you like the liver taste this stuff is for you.

Don't do this..

If you’re driving from Mississippi, you should do the Boudin Tour through Eunice, Opelousas, Ville Platte, etc. The best stop is ok, but it’s not really on the same level as the real stuff. It’s like going to New Orleans and eating at Dragos. If you’re going to go to New Orleans, eat at the real restaurants.

I like Kartchners Billy's and Best Stop equally. All are a little different. Nunu was also solid. Best Stop is my favorite when it's on but they can be inconsistent and runny sometimes.
Best stop hog head cheese is great.
Kartchners has a fire boudin dip.
Don's I wasn't impressed with at all.
Ronnie's is good for BR

Best Stop is really good and consistent. If you come for the Best Stop, get a dozen other kinds and do a competition.

Apparently the people think it’s no way that a BR place can make a good boudin.

I'm not saying it's bad but it's not on the same level as the stuff on the other side of the spillway. FYI Boudin Shack has the best link in BR.

May have to try that.

I've had them both. Clearly you have no idea what good boudin taste like.

Thinking about making a road trip and load up since we get 10-20 packs at a time so they always run out.
Unless you just want to make the trip, go to the grocery store that you buy it from and tell them to order you however much you want.
They already sell the product so it will save you on shipping and you won’t have to drive.

If you're coming from Waveland to Scott you have to pass thru BR. Do yourself a huge favor and stop at Ronnies on Fla Blvd. Their smoked boudin is the best in the state. Much better than best stop. Try it yourself and you won't be traveling to Scott I can promise you that.

For my $ the best smoked boudin in the state is found at T-Jim's in Cottonport. They have the smoked red (blood) boudin, too which is awesome as well.
2nd for best smoked would be Mr. T's in Elton

You cannot go wrong buying boudin in Scott at Best Stop, Billy’s, Kartchner’s, or NuNu’s. It’s all about personal preference. I happened to be in Lafayette yesterday visiting my sister and stopped at Billy’s because I was heading back to Texas via I-10. Picked up fresh and smoked sausage, shrimp boudin balls, cracklin, and crawfish roll ups.

That blood boudin from T-Jim’s is great. I served it at a party and a friend said it was the best boudin she ever had. I dunno if I would go that far, but it is really good.

Had some regular boudin from there like 10 years ago at a party, and it was so damned good. I never get to that area, but if I do, will load up on some.
