Well, the bike came in and now I have a headache from reading the size 1 font. There is no way in a million years I can put this thing together.

I am convinced within those instructions is a puzzle which when solved leads me to a map which then leads me to The Lost City of gold which then gives me the money to pay someone to put my bike together.

My step-dad is going to try and help me put it together tomorrow. :D

201. A year ago I would have laughed at the idea I would ever weigh 201 again. I was probably mulling the idea of a diet in my head but 201 certainly never entered the picture.

Once again, sorry for your loss Hulk. We are all here for ya when ya need us.

I was around 230 a year ago and would have laughed at the idea of weighing 265.

Then I would starve. I need to figure out how to put the wheels, seat and bars on. That could take months.

Sorry for your loss Hulk, losing your Mom is one of the toughest days of your life.

New low today. A couple of weeks ago I decided to do away with posting my calories and exercise on the counting website. I just got tired of the tedium, I'm going to just try to practice what I've learned about what I can eat. So far it works, down 3 in 2 weeks.

Down another half pound today. Ran again and struggled a little, but I made it. Starting to build momentum, which is nice. Jeans already starting to fit better

myth...dsmn buddy. i would totally put your bike together for u. i eat that shite up. u just need a couple of screwdrivers, a pair of pliers and set of hex wrenches. just make sure u pull the cables tight on your brakes...most important thing.

this could be good learning experience...bikes aren't rocket science..don't be intimidated

I've been following this thread for a few weeks and I'm ready to see that bike! Here is a page from Schwinn with a few videos for assembling a bike. It isn't very hard to do, and if you have any questions, I think they could be answered here.

One thing you really need to do once it is assembled, is walk along beside the bike with your hands on the bars, and test the brakes!

Hulk,

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers at this time.

what vince said

really myth..not sure how many pieces your bike came in..but its a very simple matter to put on the stem and tighten it and the handlebars down.

honestly, the only slightly tricky part is you need to get the brakes TIGHT. 2 people work better..have one pinch the 2 levers together while you pull on the cable and tighten the bolt that 'crimps' the cable. you dont want more than a couple cm between brake pads & rim because the cable WILL stretch and you dont want a 'mushy' brake that requires you to pull the lever all the way to the handlebar before it stops you.

hulk, sorry about your loss. that has to be rough.

my mardi gras went ok. i didnt really diet much and i drank roughly 2 cases of bud light in 2 days. endymion being canceled was a good thing

but i ended up walking nearly 9 miles on sunday and monday after i yahoo mapped where i walked to and from at the parades.

took tues off and got back to normal

i actually think i lost weight

i usually weigh on friday, but the damn scale battery is dead. it is some fancy small circular metal battery about the size of a quarter. anyone know what i am talking about? where can i get those from? a drug store or wal mart or somewhere?

Take the battery with you. There are different numbers on those kinds of batteries, even though they may be the same diameter. You can get them at Wal Mart. If it is a hard-to-find size, you may have to try a Radio Shack.

that would be a nickel cadium battery, les ... like CT said, you can find them pretty much anywhere, but yes, bring yours with you because they do come in different sizes ... get you a duracell .. they're not cheap, but you won't be worrying about this again for 10 years with one of those ...

I'm creeping slowly down.

Last night I was ravenous for the first time in a while and I was out of the apartment running errands. It was VERRRRRRY hard not to hit some fast food but our little competition actually kept me from cheating.

Advice needed.

I just started Atkins on Wednesday and have been doing fine.

However, I have a Cub Scout camping trip with my twin boys next weekend. All meals are provided. I have been on these campouts before. The portions served aren't very filling for a fat man anyway, but if I only eat what is low-carb, I will starve. Any ideas?

I'll probably just pack some pork skins and canned meats to enjoy between meals. I guess I'll be able to slam a can of tuna or sardines when nobody's looking.

Any other good, easy to pack and eat, high protein/low carb snacks or meals?
