ou should do great! If you can add in some exercise, you should be amazed.

I think that's why I lost 12 the first week. 3 times last week a friend of mine came over and we played some dancing game for the Wii.. that's some crazy exercise. I planned to implement a walking regiment today but.. Heavy rains and tornado watches have postponed that lol

stay away from the nitrate/nitrite infested dogs. oscar meyer now has *FOUR* types of hotdogs without nitrates..hence fewer headaches:

- premium dogs
- premium all beef dogs
- angus dogs
- premium all beef long dogs

i've stopped buying the 99 cent crap (even thought they're delicious) becuase i'm much more suceptible to the nitrate presevatives now than i used to be.

eta this sounds a whole lot like me squirming out of having to buy a $5 hotdog for you

eta2:

1/1/10 257/203.4/185

I'M CATCHING UP AGAIN MYTH!!! 1.7lbs off your last entry.

BETTER CALL SAUL!

eta3: what comes first? myth or cad breaking 199 or 100 pages in this thread?

It's bike day! Fed Ex tracking says that it is on the truck along with the helmet and gloves. Air pump was sitting on my dooerstep when I got the paper.

Hulk,

My tip is to be very slow with the exercise. Yes it is great for you but I think "over working" leads to burnout which causes a larger percentage of people to quit.

Not telling you to skip it, just telling you to take it slow. We all have addictive personalities that resist moderation, so make sure you moderate the exercise.

Don't start out like "breaking away" Cad who likes to take 50 mile leisure rides.

Actually, I only eat one or two hot dogs per year.

Yeah I know. I want to do like 30 minutes of walking, 5 days a week. Take my weekends off

listen to myth. this is actually very important. the *WORST* thing u can do right now is pull a hamstring or something which could completely deflate/demotivate you if you're laid up and can't get around easily. easy to get depressed because of a sports injury.

i say cool it for now (walking & stuff is of course still good) and then slowly ramp up and defintely be careful about premature injuries until you get to know your new body

I decided to give up alcohol for Lent and figured might as well give up Carbs also, so started Atkins on Monday. The worst part is i cant have milk. oh and no sauce for the meat (bbq/ketchup/etc)

CAD's TIP OF THE DAY

TIME

losing weight is all about time. time is your friend and your enemy. if you control time, you win. food happens. you will eat. to win, you simply need to space out the food you eat over time.

hulk you will burn 2700+ calories every 24 hours just by standing still. thats a constant. thats your secret weapon. no matter what you do, your body will continue to burn calories to support your beating heart..your engine. no matter what those calories will be GONE over 24 hours.

food..meh. you will eat at some point. thats a given. how you space out your meals..and calories..over a given interval of time..determine whether your scales go UP or DOWN.

the golden rule..for every 3500 defecit, an entire pound is gone. atkins certainly gives your metabolism and fat-burning engine a HUGE hand up, but dont rely too much on the atkins 'gimmick' or you wont be conditioning into a way of eating you can sustain after going off atkins.

instead, take the opp given to you during this time period to work on disciplining yourself to eat less over the same period of time.

it certainly will NOT hurt to do atkins and also focus on eating less..even though i know many foods are 'free' on the atkins diet and you can consume large quantities and still seemingly dissolve fat like magic.

iow, do both. its much harder now than it will be in 6-12 months. so start slowly..and build your endurance and MENTAL STATE..to not automatically believing you have to eat constantly or you'll die if you dont have a good hearty meal at night.

ok rant done.

you'll get over it. you can also buy that 'hood' milk (not sure they carry it in LA) in both regular & chocolate flavor which has no carbs and tastes just like milk. the chocolate is especially delicious.

no sauce for the meat (bbq/ketchup/etc)

bernaise, ranch, sour cream, mayo, mustard..you still got lots of choices you just might have to make some of them from scratch so you can regulate the ingredients going into them.

Hard to believe. Seems like if I lost that much it'd show but I guess if it removes it from all over my body instead of just one place, it'd be easy to shave that off.

E X A C T L Y

this came off all over..you wont see it happening for a long time but trust me..thats what it looks like.

there is no way to target areas of your body for weight loss..for guys it will tend to settle around the middle..when your shirts start to get loose and your pants fit better is when you realize its taking the fat from all over.

it rocks to melt away

Better than that, the day I can walk into a mall clothing store and walk out with some fresh clothes will make it all worth it. Shopping and goodwill and "big and tall" stores to find stuff in my size.. embarassing.
