Gained 0.6 this week. But I'm happy with that considering I drank rather heavily and didn't watch what I ate every day Friday through Tuesday (Mardi Gras). Back at it again and the 0.6 plus some will be gone next week.

I'm so tired. I'm actually glad the burial is tommorrow. It's going to be a rough ride but I'm ready to put this behind me and move on. Ready to say my peace, tell her goodbye, and let life roll on. I will be back home tommorrow evening, so I'll have an official total for my first 2 weeks of induction. I'm pretty certain that I'm going to continue in induction for at least another 2 weeks... I don't feel like it's time to move on from it.

I thank you all for your support and look forward to showing you all how it's done.

257/202.7/185 1/2010

the good news is i stayed at 202..which is where i was yesterday (prior to the mid-day post-ride dip) but i ate like a pig..1.4lb ribeye, 10 wings with ranch and at least 10 gigantic steak fries off my son's plate before i came to my senses

the ride was a disaster yesterday..was supposed to go 68 miles..but at 25 miles in..i completely collapsed. just done. cooked. toasted. i limped the other 20 or so miles home..not going faster than 11-12mph and barely able to turn over the smallest gear (and the terrain was generally flat).

probably bad eating habits catching up with me..but very humbling/humiliating to have everyone including kids on tricycles blow past me (ok maybe not tricycles)

today my legs are very sore..first time in forever..i cant explain..i guess everyone has a bad day on the bike from time to time.

I'm not even sure I could eat a 22 ounce ribeye anymore. But it would be fun to try.

I seem to be stuck and moving in slow gear myself on the weight loss.

Finally got the bike up and running but I learned I am in even worse shape than I thought and I thought I was in pretty bad shape.

Dang muscles I haven't used in 20 years were not happy I woke them from their slumber.

ride hard for 4 hours on a bike..you'll end up with a pretty dang healthy appetite when done

excellent!! cycle goes like this:

1. workout muscles (they're too shocked to hurt yet)
2. muscles get VERY VERY SORE over next 24-48 hours as you've torn them completely up and they have to heal.
3. muscles retain water (you might stall or not see weightloss for a few days) while they're reparing themselves..getting stronger.
4. next time u ride..those same muscles will no longer get sore (or much much less sore)
5. weight loss restabalizes after muscles have healed and stop retaining water in them.

after that, they wont hurt anymore ..this is NOT a good thing. that means they've adjusted. shock them by varying your routine or looking for ways to torture other muscles.

being in a constant state of muscle soreness is a GOOD GOOD thing. thats a good soreness..it means you're building muscle..hence transforming your body bit by bit and trading 'fat weight' for 'muscle weight'.

that means you win.

eta myth..there's nothing in the universe more motivating that seeing muscles bulk up in places where u thought they were gone forever. your muscles are all still with you buddy, u just need to feed them

Went a tiny bit further today.

The wind on the levee is just killing me. Need to lose some damn weight so the bike will be easier to pedal.

Oh and the worst part is getting the bike up the stairs to the 3rd floor with jello legs when I get back to the apartment.

Don't expect the same results as the week before. Just keep up the great work and hang in there.

And good luck! Someone around here needs to be losing some weight since it is sticking to me like super glue.

Oh I don't. I'm hoping for 5 pounds. It was 12 pounds last week, but so much of that was water weight. My family says I don't look "bloated" anymore. If I got to 146 or 147 I'd be estatic. I know sometimes stress hinders weight loss in some people so I don't really know what to expect, but these past few days have been very stressful. Any loss is welcome really, but I hope I can at least 15 pounds lighter than when I started!

17 pounds in 2 weeks! It's definitely showing already and I'm feeling it. All of my clothes are fitting as they are supposed to, compared to being too tight, and I've dropped a notch in my belt. This is so exciting!

And all is well. I'm at work, but my coworkers here did choke me up a little They left me a card and all left little messages in it and gave condolences. My company sent a beautiful plant to the funeral home as well and my boss almost made me stay home today I love my job.
