welcome fan1971
congrats on quitting smoking. that was the healthiest decision I ever made 21 years, 7 months, 3weeks and 2 days ago. but who's counting. You'll get urges for a very long time but every successful resistance weakens the next urge.

good luck

Rockstar dude. I quit every 2 weeks Actually I don't buy my own anymore but when I drink I bum, sucks.

Anyway, so I've figured out what I've been doing wrong and it's time to fix my issues and get back on track guys. My BMR when I was 363 was right about 3500 calories, so I cut my calories to 1800 and I could be loose with my dieting and cheat and still lose.. well my sedentary BMR is now 2500. I've been eating around 2000-2500 cals/day without realizing it.. my portions got bigger again because I wasn't really paying attention to them, and I was snacking a lot again. I was exercising, but any calories I burned off and have extra were being consumed in the form of weekly cheats. Beer mostly. So, time to buckle down and K.I.S.S. Get my calories to 1800 or less a day and get consistent exercise.. and don't cheat. I've been using those 'low carb' wraps.. trashed. Hummus, oh dear lord hummus.. trashed. Get back to basics and hammer out the last 24 pounds to my first goal of 250.

I was checking out myfitnesspal and thats really going to help keep track of the calories. I think an elliptical or Air dyne for home may be good for you when you can't make it to the gym. You've come so far, just a little to go

Right there with you, Myth.

Last week, I found out I didn't pass my test by a lousy 3 points, so instead of getting back in the gym and actually having fun sometimes, I have to study again for another month.

So last weekend, because I pretty much only had one weekend with no test looming, I didn't try to make any healthy choices and drank and ate what I wanted. Hopefully some sodium damage is still lingering, but the numbers aren't pretty.

279.8/245.6/170

I was once all the way down to 232. I can get there again, but UGH its not fun.

H, I had no idea you were really a "bummer".

A very wise prof I had P'd me off when he told us that anyone who couldn't quit was weak-minded. It took me several years to realize he was right. Next time you're out and want to bum a cig, lick an ashtray or eat the tobacco end. Each is healthier and more paleo.

Do any of you guys have a problem with eggs not filling you up? If I eat eggs in the AM, I'm usually hungry again within 30 minutes or so.. they used to make me full. But I think I've had so many that my stomach would rather act like eggs aren't real

Scrambled? Maybe try preparing them a different way like hard boiled. Maybe you can psyche your stomach out and make it seem like you're eating something different. Eating a hard boiled egg or 2 usually satisfies me for a little while.

Ah hard boiled is a great idea. I usually do either scrambled, an omelet, or fried.

Hard boiled egg whites are the way to go. I usually eat 3-4 a day. Especially now that Egglands best now makes Pre packaged hard boiled eggs, just disregard the yolk.

The yolk is the healthiest part of the egg. You're missing out on TONS of nutrition in the yolk. Dietary cholesterol isn't bad for you. By taking out the yolk you're basically ingesting protein and nothing else. This is especially true for a low carb diet..

You are right about the nutrition, but What I'm worried about is the calories, fat, carbs, protein, and, cholesterol.

Egg White/ Egg Yolk
Calories 17 / 59
Fat (g). .06 / 4.51
Saturated Fat (g). 0 / 1.6
Carbs (g). .24 / .61
Protein (g). 3.6 / 2.7
Cholesterol (mg). 0 / 210

But just like everything else, do what works

Quite honestly, eggs aren't high in calories unless you want to overeat and have 5 or 6. 3 eggs and 3 strips of bacon isn't high in calories for a meal. But you're right, whatever works for an individual
