Well the advice always given on the WW boards when having trouble eating points is to not eat reduced fat or "diet" food. Real cheese instead of 2%. Real wheat bread. Add other good fats - avocado and nuts. Eat veggies with points - peas, sweet potatoes, potatoes (GASP!), corn, etc. And like igoringa says - having the extra points now makes eating out and planning for occasions awesome. Doesn't look like you have enough dairy servings either - need 2 (1 is 8 oz milk or yogurt, 1.5 oz cheese, or 2 cups cottage cheese).
But it is normal to have trouble getting them in but you'll get used to it.
Today for me:
Breakfast - yogurt with graham crackers (5)
Lunch - squash and ground meat, cucumbers, cheese, strawberries (10)
Snacks - popcorn (3), strawberries
Dinner - 6 oz 93/7 burger with 3 slices center cut bacon and pepper jack, light mayo on a white wheat bun, baked sweet
potato fries (19)
Dessert - jello sf rice pudding (2)
That's my 39 points for the day. Don't be afraid of grains/carbs (unprocessed). They are more points now but intended to be eaten still (sorry CAD, Hulk, Myth).
Also fruit is free but if you eat more than 4 or so half-cup servings a day, you may want to count them if you notice you're eating your points but not losing. Would say number of free veggie servings doesn't really matter.

eta hulk..go back and read the article a few pages back about 'intermittent fasting'.
i think you'll find it amazingly valuable. i never tried any type of mini fast before this year and i'm surprised at how good i feel when i do this occassionally.
its just another tool in the weightloss aresenal.

Lester, etal. Please try & watch this (or listen). Jump to around 20 minutes in at least and listen for 10 minutes.
Very compelling presentation..and from a hardcore california liberal vegeterian professor from stanford no less.
Whatever you think about the stuff I throw out on here...this is very hard to refute his study.
lol @ the audience. they're really not happy at how shitty ornish and the food pyramid performed. :lol
eta 50 minutes in is money
1:04 in is also great "whenever they come to the US and adopt our dietary guidelines disease and cancer rates go up"
1:07 in is also gold. woman from audience trying to blame obesity on mcdonalds and he said he could make the same case that more telephone poles causes obesity.
perfect!

new mini plateau, but since I'm exercising I kind of expected it. CAD taught me.
Beach bound tomorrow. I'll be the old, skinny, sunburned guy chasing his 7 yr old around.

What does PUFA mean? I have seen this term on several sites but not a definition or explanation.

You're discussing what is allowed on WW, I'm not going to argue with you.

Plateau busted! Hopefully I hit or break 320 tomorrow. Less than 320? I probably haven't been less than 320 in 2 years. I've put on a couple of 2x shirts that haven't fit me since high school just as motivation, although they're still a tad tight
good job hulk. you're definitely in a better place now than you were a couple months back.
imagine where you'll be in another 6 months!

Witnessed this last night as we took my mom out for dinner and she chose Olive Garden. I had 30 points left for dinner, and I used 30 points for dinner.
For fun, i figured the points of what I would have eaten if not dieting and it came to around 93 points. I really wanted the deep fried lasagna appetizer (27 points). I wonder how I got fat to begin with.

Welcome aboard friend
Nice, 12 pounds is no small feat. Great beginning and I hope it turns into a great end!
I too use MFP. I haven't been tracking what I eat though.. not at all. I have gotten very lax with keeping up with what I'm eating.. But I know I'm staying under 20-25g of carbs per day so I'm doing okay.
If you don't mind me asking, what diet are you taking up? Or are you just doing the "eat less, move more" method?
Posted on 6/3/11 at 9:05 am to Hulkklogan
eat less and move alot more. no really diet yet.

Moderation, portion control, and exercise are 75% of any diet. The rest is up for debate. Keep it up.

PolyUnsaturated Fatty Acids = PUFA
when I first saw that I was supposed to avoid PUFA's I thought it would be easy cuz I hate Professional eUropean Football.
eta: welcome 7171.
Eta2: Hulk congrats on the bust. Was it the beer or the Jager?

Cad, remind me in a week of your link of the Stanford dude (I am on vacation for the next week and the wife would be pissed if I carve out an hour to watch this right now!)

Neither! Maybe it was the rockstar
All joking aside it was patience. That's all it takes to bust a plateau, patience. I didn't exercise any extra, didn't cut down my eating habits.
