Luckily there is more then one way to skin a cat! Although, it does provide challenge to have two spouses doing something different.

No need for an apology.

Though you may have not been knocked out of ketosis, if you follow Atkins strictly, a clean induction is much more preferred. I personally followed Atkins very closely until I got used to eating low carb and now I just make sure I don't eat more than 30 or 35g per day of carbs.

If your husband does not want to give up carbs but does want to lose weight, I would suggest Weight Watchers. I've done that in the past and been very successful with it as well.

You don't HAVE to count calories on Atkins, but you should try to refrain from eating too much and especially overeating. If you're like me you eat fast. Slow down and eat one serving. If 20 minutes later you're still hungry, eat another protein portion.

I would take it easy at the gym for a while. Don't overdo yourself or you may burn out. It's happened to me numerous times in the past. Starting Atkins, you really only need 3 30 minute sessions of brisk walking per week. I personally walk 30 minutes per day. Sometimes I miss, depending on when I get home, what I need to do, etc.

Best of luck to you and welcome aboard!

I am getting him to eat healthier (lower calorie and good calories instead of empty calories) and go to the gym with me so that is positive.

All I'm going to add about the exercise v. no exercise debate/conversation/topic is that I really don't like to work out. I'm glad I did it when its over - but not because I enjoyed it - just because I know its a good thing to do.

Since I've been doing WW for 6+ months now, I decided I add it back in and aim for 3-4 days per week (2-3 months were with no workouts at all). I do enjoy team sports a lot and would be happy if I could do that more often...

Well, if I ENJOYED working out, I probably wouldn't be a lard arse to begin with! LOL, jyst kidding, but serious too. I hate working out but always feel so much better when I do it and it makes me drop the weight faster, so for me it's a necessity. But good lord, it's not like it's fun or anything!
Madam, welcome! Always happy to see more women...Not doing Atkins but watching both calories and carbs, Good luck to you! Post often...

I'm not a ladies' man, I'm one lonely SOB irl Oh and my tongue isn't all that longue, it's wide. I bite the sides of it all the time >_<

In other news:
363/332/250

finally a loss 31 lbs, broke the 30 lb mark! So that loss means 3 lbs in 8 days.. Although it all dropped off at once. Hopefully tomorrow will be more, it tends to come off in 2 days then stall again.

I know clean induction is best but low Carb cheats keep me from having real cheats. My family eats well and often. Last night my brother made chicken parmesan (breaded chicken of course) homemade with spaghetti. I had a plain chicken breast in oven with cottage cheese (out of ricotta) and provolone and parmesan melted under diced tomatoes with Italian spices. We also had squash and green beans. So I had non induction foods but I stayed in ketosis the whole time and did not cheat at all. I also have 100 calorie 3carb protein powder Smoothies when they are eating desserts or Carb loaded breakfasts sometimes if I am feeling weak and don't want eggs. It may not be the best way but it works to keep me from cheating with Carb foods.

Whatever works! If you're losing weight, how you've done it is almost irrelevant (aside from starving yourself or purging).

I think I have a website you'll love. I have made quite a few of the meals from this website and they have all been great.

If you read this entire thread, you've already seen this, but try making these:

oopsie rolls

If you scroll down, you'll see pics of how people use them. I made french toast out of these with a little sugar free syrup and it was amazing. It's a great escape from the morning egg routine.

ETA: I didn't use the splenda in mine because I was also making them for hamburger buns and don't like a sweet bun.

Forgot to post my weekly #'s:

265/238/190 3/9/11

I'm the same exact weight as last week, but can't complain considering my planned "non-diet" day turned into 2 days. I'll take 2 days of pigging out and maintaining the weight.

Does this work well? I know you had a special reason to have a day off, but I remember you saying you used to do ti and see losses after you went back on a strict induction..

Yesterday I wanted SO BADLY to have one of the new cheesy double decker tacos from Taco Hell.. My favorite there has always been the double decker taco and I always wished they put cheese in the middle and they finally did.. I was able to resist but man it was hard. The logic going through my mind was "just one cheat, you want to test out the theory of getting that cheat and losing again afterwards!" but I didn't do it and was rewarded this morning on the scale.. but I am still very curious..
