I was down to 237 on Friday morning. After eating a big mac and fries for lunch Friday; chips/cheese dip, onion rings, and a big sandwich for dinner Friday, a chick-fil-a chicken biscuit for breakfast Saturday, pizza for lunch Saturday, and fried gator, fried crawfish, crawfish etoufee, cajun pasta, and beer for dinner on Saturday; I woke up Sunday weighing in at about 244. Today, I was back down to 238.

I'm interested to see what happens this week. If I am 235 by next Wednesday, I'll say the experiment was a success.

The bad thing is that I didn't even really enjoy the food that much. I felt like crap and was actually looking forward to getting back on the diet on Sunday.

If/when I do it again, I'll try to keep it all in one day. I'll also wait until I'm really craving something rather than planning it out.

Gonna have a tough weekend, going to Manresa for a first ever retreat. Not too sure about the food situation for the weekend. May just say whatever and regroup after the weekend is over.

My boss always eats well and drinks lots of wine at his Manresa retreat.

Good luck!

Thanks for the recipes guys! I prefer to eat vegetarian but mostly nuts and legumes and veggies. I just did not want to eat the higher carb way and lose slowly (which is what happens with Atkins vegetarian). Oh and I don't like tofu or tempeh too much either especially not if it is shaped as fake meat. So I am trying to tolerate the meat (cheese makes it better) for as long as I can but I do sometimes go a little overboard on my veggies but that should still be better than legumes. I also have a few nuts if I just can't deal with meat at that particular time. I am also going to see if I can get the husband and children to switch to low carb bread because that should be better for them than the regular kind imo.

I don't mean to intrude, but do you mind if I ask why you like the vegetarian way? Do you not like meat or is it a respect thing for animals? Just curious. My half sister is a vegetarian and she just doesn't like the idea of eating animals... a thought that I don't understand but accept.

It is a different thing for me than most people. Everyone I know hunts and I fully understand hunting for food and being meat eaters and I am fine with that. On the flip side I find meat hard to digest and the idea of bones, skin and veins in my food grosses me out. When I do eat meat it is boneless, skinless and trimmed very clean. This also makes fish easier for me to tolerate since it is cleaner looking. (The caveat to that being high levels of mercury and metals in fish but that is a discussion for another day lol). Long story short it is easier for me to drink almond milk thinking about pressed almonds than to drink cow milk thinking that it came from a cow teat.

I can understand that.

But man I just love meat (no homo) too much to care about that stuff

Taco Bell is my nemesis Hulk.

I've been pretty good since this thread started but back around July I had a breakdown and hit bell 4 times in one week and was heading out for the 5th time when a light bulb went off in my head and I said enough is enough.

I have had it a few times since. Some guys here convinced me eating 4000 calories might help me break a plateau, so I used it as an excuse and gained a ton of weight and it took forever to lose the TBell weight.

I seem to recall a TBell meltdown a month or two ago. I got up with my keys and got all dressed to head out and stopped myself.....3 times. 4th time I hit the bell.

In 14 months, the only fast food I have cheated with, was that damn Bell.

But since this thread started in September, I really have only had a few unexcused cheats. I end up feeling so bad both mentally and physically after an unexcused cheat that I just don't do them much anymore.....

Admittedly, I was out Tuesday night and as I was passing by Bell, my brain started moving my hands toward the parking lot, but my heart kicked in and said no sir, not today.

I have a blog that keeps me honest. I post all my info and tips (Lester would love it). That blog and my readers actually have kept me from cheating numerous times.

Nice. I still want that damn taco. It's bad enough where I feel like I'm asking myself if it's worth the trouble it'll likely cause I don't wanna eat a ton, just 1 or two tacos.. but I've trained myself that "just one" or "just one or two" WILL hurt.. but it's rough. I pass by taco hell twice every day, and every day I look at it and think "mmm cheesy double decker tacooo" the fat boy in me REALLY comes out for taco bell

Forget all this talk of Taco Bell. I just found out that Albertson's has whole ribeyes for $3.99 a pound. We will be having steaks tonight.

By the way, that dancing banana looks like you're pretty excited for a steak. You'd better watch out or you'll lose your meat-hater card.

H, if you can quit smoking you can avoid TB (not the disease) until you hit your 330 mini goal. Get somebody else to pickup the food for you though. We don't want a "one man enter, one man don't leave" situation.

If I am going to eat meat then my husband's cast iron skillet on the grill with real butter and bleu cheese ribeye is the way to go! My favorite thing is to grill veggies and put bleu cheese on those but I am having steak so I can make a new cauliflower, bacon and cheese side I found on the website hulk linked for me.
