I know before I type it that this will deserve a "cool story bro", but oh well:
My wife and I have both gained some lbs over the years and have tried to lose weight using various methods. She always gets discouraged because I lose weight much easier (just never keep it off). For years, I have tried to convince her that Atkins would be great for her because she almost perfectly fits the description given by Atkins of someone with hyperinsulinism. Finally, after years of prodding, she started Atkins on Saturday.
Saturday night, she started having bad headaches. I didn't have the heart to tell her that it was likely a reaction to her carb addiction.
Sunday, she had several meetings at church and complained that there was nothing she could eat. However, she persevered.
Monday, she began to adjust and the complaining stopped.
This morning, I encouraged her to get back on the scale to see how she's doing. She is not addicted to the scale like I am, and usually doesn't even weigh every week. This is probably because the result is usually not encouraging. Finally, she relented and got on the scale. 3 days of Atkins, 8 lbs. lost.
Yes, I realize most is water weight, but that was the first time in a long time that I've seen my wife standing on a scale with a smile on her face.
Frankly, I was more excited about her success than my own.

But really, that's great man. I really want to influence my little brother to lose weight as well. He's almost as big as I was, but only 17 and about to go to LSU in August. I figure with walking around campus he'll start dropping some weight, but I'd love to be able to get him to do Atkins too. But I know that if you don't do it for yourself then you won't do it and he's not very unhappy being fat so idk if he will.

I put on a 2xl shirt today for work and it's a tad tight but it actually fits
I was in 4x, or really tight in a 3x just 5 weeks ago!

Good job Hulk.
My wife made me change shirts yesterday because the one I chose was too baggy. I just bought it and a few others a couple of weeks ago because everything else was too tight. Throwing my money away never felt so good.

I have not posted in since the first of March. Still at it and survived a 4-day trip to Mexico in mid-March where I drank WAY TOO Much and put on 5.5lbs. All gone and still working my way down. Finally had to buy some clothes.

dude..as long as you keep your receipts and its only been like 6 months..take that shite back and exchange it.
i've done this with pants..i keep bringing them back and i tell them "oh someone got me the wrong size..." and the little clerk doesn't care. they are happy to exchange..especially if you're getting the same thing.
i started with a size 42 levis and i've swapped the 'same' pair 5x (40, 38, 36, 34, 32)
same with a couple of shirts.

Well, this sheds some light on my lack of a hot dog.

Be careful what you ask for and read the label. The OT is creeping in.

I need some unorthodox advice. I am down about 12 through 2 weeks and I need to put as much of these 'easy pounds' back on stat! (before Saturday).
Sounds bizarre I know, but my gym is doing a 90 day challenge with some prizes and I think I may have a decent shot.. but I want credit for the easy pounds.
So beyond eating all the salt in the world I can find to put on some water weight, does anyone have any ideas... obviously I am looking for the 'fluctuation' weight and water weight. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheater!
In such a short time high sodium meals would be about the only way to get a few of those pounds back on.

I have lost only 2 pounds the last 10 days. Frustrated with that. I'm past the easy weight now and seem to have plateaued. I'm eating 1500-1800 calories a day in meat, fruit, and vegetables and some whole wheat, multi-grain bread now and again for fiber.
I wish this was going faster, though. I seem stalled.

Been there done that. You need to hang tough. 1800 seems a tad high. I would keep it to 1500 at the highest.
Plateaus suck. I'm higher in weight today than 3 weeks ago but at least I know that is from muscle building from the bike riding. Still pisses me off. I had a nice big lead on Cad in our race to 185.
Just keep the faith and keep plugging away. It didn't take just a few months to pack it on, so it takes time to get it off.
