Looking for y’all opinions for a great spot to celebrate a couple birthdays next month in New Orleans. We’re looking at Revolution, but I’d honestly like something more creative. Possibly a “taste of the kitchen” 5 course offering. What are the best spots doing that right now?

Commander's Palace.
They have spaces upstairs that will accommodate 10 people. There is that room next to the bathrooms on the way to the Garden Room, and the yellow room at the top of the main staircase can be sectioned off for a party of 10.

Get the chef's playground menu which is basically the same menu they serve to the people at the chef's table.

Not sure about the tasting part, but Dickie Brennan’s did a private room for us a few years back.

All these places are good and have private rooms

Muriel’s
Ralphs on the Park

These 2 have a 5-6 course option as well as private dining

Vincent’s on St Charles
Commanders Palace

The wine cellar at Commander’s is incredible, but I doubt you’ll get a spot there or anywhere “private” in a month, even under normal circumstances. Places are really full in New Orleans.

Check with Gris Gris. They were doing meals like that during Covid, I know, but they may do them still. You can select your own menu as I recall or have the chef make suggestions. I think it's underrated and the chef interacts with customers really well.

I would second Gris Gris. My high end company books groups there often (at least precovid)...nothing but superlative feedback.

Maybe Clancys if you don't like those posted above.
