Drove out of my way and went to the Sherwood Popeye around 9p Saturday. Was the only car in the drive-thru and got my combo instantly.

5-star experience and the sandwich was glorious.

I just had the same experience at the S. Sherwood location by the interstate during lunch. Super fast and friendly service to get my sandwich.

For me though, the spicy is too spicy. I'll get the regular version next time.

Got my "give it another chance" sandwich today. Spicy chicken, extra sauce and extra pickles fulfilled. They were out of pickles with the first one I had. The pickles definitely make a difference. This time there was extra sauce as requested. The sauce is really good. This time the chicken was larger than the bun and then some. It wasn't as thick, but it was also not as dry as the first sandwich. If you like chicken sandwiches, it's very good for the price. I would not wait more than about 10 minutes or so for one and that's assuming they are having to fry more chicken, but I would eat one again.

through this whole deal, I've had several. some before the hype, a couple during, and now a couple post crash reboot. maybe its luck of the draw, however, the ones I've had since the comeback have not been as good. it makes me wonder if they did more revamping than the bread and went with not as good or cheaper supplies than they did the first go round. maybe a less grade of chicken breast, or a smaller size maybe... this last one the chicken was very rubbery... anybody else noticed a little less quality on version 2?

It’s probably expectations. I can’t imagine a FF chain really springing for TOL anything

There is literally not one difference in ingredients. Not one

What you’re experiencing is likely a variance in preparation. Some may be making sandwiches and staging them to help alleviate wait times. Or frying filets that aren’t fully thawed. Or not flattening the filets before frying

i had one the other night and it was literally the exact same as before. It wasn't piping hot since I assume they're just making them and bagging as people order, but it was still delicious af

They are, I had one the other day and saw multiple packaged sandos ready to go. Whatever, it was still good.

I had one for the first time in Bayou Vista (just checked, thought I was in Patterson) on Sunday. Wait time inside was five or ten minutes and the sandwich was piping hot. I was wishing I wasn't in a hurry and had time to let it cool a bit before shoveling it in. I liked it. Super crunchy in every bite.

I had my first for lunch today.

Spicy combo.

Drive thru, line went quickly. No issues.

Wow. For a fast food sandwich, I was blown away. It was around 1130 this morning and I want another one. I've been thinking about it ever since.

The bun was buttery smooth and fluffy hot. The chicken breast was moist and juicy on the inside but crunchy and crisp on the outside. But not too crunchy. The pickles were like hand picked cucumbers finely sliced and marinated just enough. The sauce drizzled off the sandwich onto my fingers and I licked it off like a dog tasting peanut butter.

It's like a drug. I can't believe it was that good.

Finally tried one. I hate mayo so ordered regular, no mayo. It had a nice crunch, it was hot and fresh, the meat was good...but...it was bland. It needs a sauce. A Chick-Fil-A sandwich, regular or spicy, doesn't.

It was so much fun I went back for seconds today and it was just as good.

I don't eat fast food twice in a month and it's been twice in like four days

Looks like I picked the wrong day to stop eating the Popeyes Chicken Sandwich!

Which is made spicy via a mayo-based sauce. . If they made a spicy chicken sandwich with spices in the batter like their spicy tenders, then that could be a game changer.
