last Popeyes buffet has closed permanently. . New ownership plans to change the menu and the buffet is history .

Moved back to Lafayette last year and was hoping to check it out. This sucks.

I always meant to drive over to Laffy one day and hit up this buffet, but I guess I waited too long. There used to be a KFC buffet in Gonzales I was fond of, but that too has gone away. One of the sad side effects of Covid is that is has killed many buffets forever.

Popeyes buffet man I miss that – back in the day there was one in Morgan City that we would hit after duck hunting. They never made any money on us and the trick was to distract the employees and take a plate out to the retrievers, they appreciated the food more than we did ;)

The Gonzales Hwy 30 Popeyes by Tanger Mall had the buffet in the late 90's until 2004 or so.

Used to be one on canal and Carrollton. Wed walk there before baseball practice at Jesuit. Every year someone would shite their pants at practice

Went in there hungover and stoned one saturday morning (aka lunch) after a long night with friends in Laffy. Had 3 plates, went back to their apartment, and took a 3 or so hour nap. I didnt know what year it was when I woke up.

I started going there every so often when I moved to Lafayette but kinda got out of the habit because I would always feel like total shite after and the rest of my day was basically ruined. I would come back from being offshore sometimes and destroy that buffet
The best part was the sides. I would get a massive plate full of all the sides and be completely stuffed.
