It depends on the location.
Not all Popeyes have the lobby open, and you have to get in line at drivethru and wait the usual 20-30 min to get your food.

This weekend, I was getting my fatboy on and went to the Popeyes on Government. I was getting an 8 piece mixed, spicy with some red beans and some coleslaw. The line moved quickly. When I got to the window the lady at the window smiled at me and said "please" and "thank you". I handed her my card when she told me my total and when she handed it back, she said something I didn't understand, but she had my card and a Hi-C fruit punch in her hand. I politely said that I didn't order a drink and she said, "It's a courtesy".
I said thank you and then she turned around, picked up my order, and handed it to me and told me to have a great day. I responded in kind, and then I drove off.
Fast service, no surly employee, no pulling forward, a free drink, and my order was 100% correct when I got home.
I don't know exactly when I slipped into an alternate universe, but it seems to be okay here, at least until the Russians nuke everyone.

It hasn't been that hard to quit cold turkey. It's kind of nice. Now I know how those holier than thou posters who laugh at fast food threads feel.

Here in Texas, it was $0.99 a few years back. Used to have lines for days.
