Places to eat in downtown Austin

We are staying at a hotel in downtown Austin tonight and tomorrow. What are some decent places to eat for dinner and lunch? Thanks.

Really depends on where you’re staying, but I like:

Casino El Camino

Uber to Suerte on east Austin or for a less expensive option Curras in south Austin or their 2nd location north of campus.

ATX Cocina isn't far from you and is my favorite spot when we go to Austin. I saw it recommended here a few years back and we go every time we are in town and everyone I recommend it to loves it.

All of the good places were booked. Thursday night, my daughter wasn't feeling well, so we walked across the street to a place called Aussi's. It sucked. Friday for lunch, we ate at HopDaddy's. It may have been the best burger I have ever eaten, and the truffle fries were awesome too. Friday night we ate at Corner Bar and Restaurant in the JW Marriott. It was ok. I had chicken enchiladas, and they were very heavy on the salsa verde. The whole trip was pretty miserable, if I am being honest.

Next time, drive out to Pieous for some brisket pastrami and grab pizza at Homeslice. Eat random tacos or breakfast burritos from holes in the wall or food trucks. You’ll have a much better time.
