Can’t go wrong with Rec Tec, they’re built like tanks. I have the 340 and my only regret is not splurging for the 590. FYI, keep your gasser or charcoal grill for hot n fast cooks.

I'm pretty sure I'll be getting the 590. I sold my weber Genesis but I have my PK grill which I love.

do not own one, but have heard good things about Masterbilt Gravity Series. It has the temp control (uses a fan) of the pellet grill, but uses charcoal/wood chunks, so you get the flavor of a stick burner.

I was seriously eyeing this but after watching multiple reviews, it seems like a 16# bag of charcoal only last 7-8 hours on a low n slow cook. That’s excessive imo... I’ve done 16 hr cooks on my BGE and used less than 10# of lump.

Just bought an RT 590 two weeks ago. Looked hard at the GMG Daniel Boone, and I don’t regret spending the extra $200-300 for the Rec Tec over the GMG. Great grill so far.

I do, but I have no idea how to post them. It’s a solid grill, probably weighs ~150 lbs, if I had to guess. Holds temps +/-2 degrees. Will fit probably 6 racks of baby backs at once, probably 3-4 butts. Probably 2 10ish pound briskets. More than enough space for my family of four. My only two gripes are that it tops out at ~500° (I’ve only used mine for smoking so far, kept my Weber kettle for searing), and it doesn’t have a smoke stack, just vents in the top of the grill.

ETA: if you upgrade to the 700, it has a smoke stack and also an option for a “smoke box” to allow for cold smoking. As well as a 6 years warranty as opposed to the 4 year that comes with the 590.

Check out this bad boy I just came across. On the higher end of the price spectrum but it checks a lot of boxes for that price including a PID controller and a fan to keep the heat even in the whole unit.

Pellet Pro 2300

1 packer, 2 racks, 2 butts, turkey needs to be spatchcocked. Go for the 590 if you can afford it. Buy once cry once.

Get the RecTec. That’s the pellet grill I have. It’s extremely well built.

For those that have the RecTec 590, any regrets not getting the 700? I have a family of four, but may have another 8-12 people over for holiday cookouts. Will the 590 handle that or should I spend $300 more for the bigger 700?

Thanks for those pics. Still can't decide on 590 or the bull. Love looks of bull and it has better warranty. Just think it might be overkill.

I love my Rec-Tec 700 Bull. I did not think I needed one that big but it had a 6 year warranty instead of 4 years with the 590 Stampede. The grill is built like a tank and I'm sure will last a long time. With that said the weak point is the wheels, they are not heavy duty enough for the weight of the grill if you move it often. My caster wheels folded up 2 weeks ago while moving the smoker. I do not have a covered porch outside so I keep it in my garage when not in use. There is a pretty simple wheel mod online (about $60) if you google it that I am in the process of doing. Something to think about if it's not going to be stationery.

I've posted about it before but I have the 590 and it's very solid. Keep it covered and it will last. It does not use as much charcoal as some are saying. I've done some 6-8 hour cooks on it and had half of the charcoal left. Love everything about it.

That was what it came down to for me. The Stampede looked to have plenty of room for my family of four (and I turned out to be right), so in my mind I was basically just paying an extra $300 for an extra two years in the warranty.
