have an old Traeger that was gifted. Gonna buy a new one this weekend. I told myself I wanna send $600 max,but that Rec Tec Stampede RT-590($899) is calling my name. You guys are the best so point me in right direction I'm open to other brands but I want quality. TIA

I have the Pitts & Spitts Maverick and highly recommend it, it's more than $900 new though so I don't know if you're wanting to stay under the stampede price.

I looked at the Stampede but wanted some thicker gauge steel that was going to last longer.

Yeah looked at that one website says they are sold out. Did you buy it directly from them or locally?

I bought online. I honestly do not remember the website. Maybe outdoor cooking.

Unless you go super high end, I'd pick up the Louisiana Grills vertical pellet smoker you can pick up at Costco for ~$450. I prefer it to the Rec Tec in just about every way. More capacity, more pellet capacity, etc...

I plan on using this guy until it craps out and then maybe investing in a Memphis

My understanding is RecTec never runs specials/sales on their pellet grills. Best they do is throw in some free pellets or cookbooks. That's per their own website, too.

Correct, they do offer free shipping on anything over $99 dollars and 20% off accessories. Man I wish I never started looking at Rec Tec LOL! The RT-340 is within my original price range but the RT-590 is only $300 more and looks like the best overall deal lol! Probably would have gotten a Camp Chef but they are sold out everywhere.

I do not own one, but have heard good things about Masterbilt Gravity Series. It has the temp control (uses a fan) of the pellet grill, but uses charcoal/wood chunks, so you get the flavor of a stick burner.

It has wifi, gets up to 700 degrees for searing, and costs less than $500.

Will it fit a big brisket? Do you put drip pans between different food types if you don't want them to dripon/baste whats under it?

It does come up often for sure. This vertical one just caught my eye since have been giving thought to trying a pellet smoker.

That master built is interesting. Just wondering about durability, they seem kinda flimsy.

I agree. I like the idea of charcoal over pellets, but the construction isn't as robust as a RecTec.

Can’t go wrong with Rec Tec, they’re built like tanks. I have the 340 and my only regret is not splurging for the 590. FYI, keep your gasser or charcoal grill for hot n fast cooks.
