This is a New Mexican restaurant, I assume a chain, that went in near the Walmart off of Siegen. It was previously the building for Zappatas. That’s been quite a few years as it has sat empty for a long while. They did some great renovations and it looks nice. I’m a smaller guy and the booths are super tight. Anyone with a gut should ask for a table but their tables all seem to be for parties of 8 or more. Odd set up. Bar looks nice, though. Food was ok but since we have only been once I’ll go back again and try something else. Server was really nice. Anyone been and have recommendations? Said they have only been open a couple of weeks.
I ordered the Birria tacos and they were good, the sauce had a ton of rice in it. Not sure if that was on purpose or rice fell in when plating. It also had a cinnamon or some similar flavor that I’ve not had in a birria before. Still very good.

Pedro’s have been popping up along I12 and I10 the last year. Like a damn blitzkrieg.
Good to hear it’s decent.

Anywhere near Siegen is a shite hole. I'll pass.

There’s been one in Denham for a year or 2… been once. It was decent I guess. I’d go back but there’s like 8 Mexican restaurants closer to me so I won’t go out of my way to go there

It is mediocre at best. Ive been about 5 times and the best thing ive had was the Carne Asada. Very good but there are others in Baton Rouge that are better.

Went to Pedro's at Juban Crossing last week, it was pretty damn good. Had 6 of us, everyone enjoyed their meal. I had the steak chimichanga, real good.

Teriyaki Madness is my guilty pleasure. But expensive. You’ll spend about $18 for lunch.

Anyone been to that central American/ Salvadorian place by the pink umbrella on Perkins (by Siegen)? Parking lot is always packed so I figured it must be good, but that may be because they do a buffet but I'm not really sure. It's on my list.

Their top shelf margaritas are really good, but be sure to hit them at happy hour. They are a bit pricey. Food is just what you would expect from a buffet style Mexican restaurant kitchen.

The food at the Juban location has been hit or miss for me. Maybe it was because they were still new at the time and still getting their feet under them. However, I agree that they have some very good ritas, and they've always been on point.
