Bug, you nailed it.
His statement was beyond arrogant and contradictory. Does he think his customers are idiots?
He definitely gets off seeing the secondary market and trade value. What’s more important? The money YOU make off of your beer? Or the money that people who buy your beer make off of it?
When in reality. All he has right now is the ghost beers. DDH Envie, Bloom and Nova etc have all been sub par.

Can’t agree more. I’m still reserving judgement on DDH Envie, but when I cracked a bottle last week, it had that same carbonation issue.

Don't forget his cute SIPS line
DDH Bloom was green as frick when it released, but 2-3 weeks later was extremely good

DDH Bloom was good. But it tasted like what regular bloom first was.

Vert is a lost cause. The last two batches of it were total shite.

Agreed on Vert and Bloom. Meh.
I was gifted a SIPS crowler and that was not beer.

I love sours. However, the SIPS series are a bit one note. The beers could be great with some age in a barrel and some more interesting yeast and bugs, but that’s not the intent in that type of beer.
I’ve brewed quick sours (like SIPS) with a boatload of fruit and I’ve made long aged sours. Long aged sours is the way to go and worth the wait, but those quick sours hit the spot on a hot summer day. Urban South Lime Cucumber Gose for example, is a great yard work beer.

I think the presale and case limits were at least a step in the right direction. I wish you had to be present with ticket and ID to pick up your beer but whatever, they want it widely traded I guess. It really boggles my mind that people are willing to travel like they do to buy DDH Ghost for $18/4-pack.

I wonder what % of the people that buy DDH Ghost re-sell or trade all or a portion of their stash.

I've always sent a few bottles off to people that were good to me in trades, but this year it looks like I might go douche and sell $10 bottles..Why not, its obviously what Andrew wants to see

Again, make that money and all of that, but that little press release he just comes off like a bit of a douche.
Andrew a douche?
In 2011 he, his only employee/brewer, bbrou and I were slamming Jai Alai and Nola Brown weekly; talking about the awesome future of south coast in his empty metal building with 1 fermenter, he was no douche.
Now it’s CrossFit, fine wines, and running such a unbalanced noncommunicative internal cult that his best, underappreciated brewer left for greener pastures.
Chasing the all mighty dollar works in all industries, including the craft beer world. It’s just a bit more disappointing that it happens in the hub city, where the every day person comes from higher moral character than other areas of the world.
I’ll keep drinking my electric jellyfish over here in hill country.

If there’s anything we know about bbrou, it’s that he does not skip leg day.

When can we expect Speyrer Brewing to hit distribution?

If I recall correctly, he didn't even have much to do with that except throwing money at it...I'm still jealous
