Yep. Generated $54,000 of revenue in 3 minutes on a Wednesday afternoon. Terrible businessman.

So much butthurt in this thread. It's just beer.

I agree that is awesome for his bottom line, but I think more reasonable limits would of still allowed him to make 54k in say 20 or 30 minutes and not alienated some of his biggest fans.

At the end of the day, this is true. I used to get butthurt if I missed out on special release stuff, but there's plenty of good stuff I can walk into the store and buy, so I don't chase much these days.

easy chief, i wasn't even online to get any yesterday. I haven't liked the way they do things for a while, it's just my opinion.

"its just beer" argument is lame. We all of us have hobbies we're passionate about. It's not like anyone here is taking this too far.

I honestly thought it was the other way around..Same for TR..Owners knows how to play the games and once they put together a solid team, its a win

Everyone knew the parameters of the presale last week. If people didn't think this was going to sell out very quickly, then they are new to the game. I got online at noon and bought a single case. It couldn't have been any easier. I'll be there at 9 AM to pick it up and home drinking it by kickoff of the 11 AM games.

Such a cop out.

I have no problem with how Andrew handled the sale. His business, his beer. Didn't have any intent to buy any.

I just think his post sale message was disingenuous and this type of distribution tactic brings shite on the industry. He is encouraging the grey/black market sales and this new ATC is going to eventually call people on it.

He's right we should all apologize. Let's all come together to pen an apology note.

This whole thread is full of people who feel entitled to buy DDH Ghost because they live in south Louisiana and drink Parish beers. Now they're pissed because they slept on the presale and missed out. Now they're taking their ball and going home.

This presale is great, IMO. I can get online and ensure that I get a case of a beer I want without having to wait in a line. I don't do lines.

Louisiana breweries are allowed to sell 10% of their annual production directly from the taproom. The ATC has no say so as to what consumers do after purchasing said beer. I don't love that people are selling it at a huge markup, but blame the people willing to pay that. How's this any different from Stubhub?

But my favorite is the people who got pissed that they missed out and are now trashing the beers Parish makes. GTFO with that.

From what I've read it sounds like a lot of people were online hitting refresh at noon and still missed out.

I agree with you there.

However for a beer that is released once a year (unless they've said otherwise) can you blame someone for getting upset that the limits were high? It still would have sold out fast, but at least you get a better shot at not having to wait in line.

It seems like he knows what he is doing business wise. Demand couldn't be higher.

As far as being risk averse in expanding the brewery (and having to outsource to grow) that is debatable

I had no such issues. I set a reminder for 11:55, got online, hit refresh at noon, bought my case in literally under a minute then went to lunch. It was incredibly easy, at least for me.

They did but also had ~20 people who bought 10 cases. 200 cases is 40% of the beer bought by only 20 people

Sucks, but at the end of the day, he is making money and driving demand higher .

Slept on the presale? The presale lasted 3 minutes. GTFO.

I still think they are still far above any other brewery in the state and talking trash just because they missed out is wrong. Calling the SIPS series subpar beer is just speaking the truth. Sometimes people say something bad about a beer, it's called reality.

I don't necessarily agree with the 10 case limit, but the parameters were known well in advance. Knowing how fast it was going to sell out, I prepared accordingly. I talked to numerous other people who had the exact same experience that I did.

I haven't had but a taste of a couple of the SIPS beers. I wouldn't necessarily call them subpar, but I also haven't wanted to spend $16 on a crowler of them. I think I spent $40 tops to make 5 gallons of a heavily fruited kettle sour that I have on tap at home.

But no matter how hard I try, I can't seem to make a hoppy beer anywhere near as good as Ghost or DDH Ghost or Bloom. Those May batches of Bloom were some of the best Parish beers I've had. Hopefully they put it into the full time rotation.
