Entered a raffle to win bottles of Pappy today… How many of your baws liquor stores have a raffle like this going on? Here is the list they are offering.

I won one a couple of years ago. It's the right to buy a bottle, not an actual bottle. Mine ended up as a Van Winkle 12yr Lot B instead of one of the three actual Pappys. Paid $103...probably worth $800-$1k on the secondary.

Waiting on something good to happen so I can open it. Still remember these sitting dusty on shelves around 2005 for $40.

At one of the Rouses tasting events I got to try Lot B, Vanwinkle 10, Handy, Elmer T Lee and a few other things I already own.

The Handy was far and away the winner of the day for me with the Lot B right behind it. If given the opportunity I would buy those bottles and open. The Vankwinkle 10 and ETL were frankly disappointing to me and would never be bottles I'd chase.

I'd probably have Stagg at 5, though I prefer it over some of the Pappy's, I understand having them at the top just for raffle purposes.

Personally i'd swap the 12 and 15 yr pappy, but that is a personal preference, I just enjoyed the 12 more.

Oh I complete get that. Given the options I'd have the Pappy's ranked in my top 4 that you have them, just a shuffle of the order. They are worth having there just to try and get.

Pretty much why I'd have 0 problem selling mine if I won one.

The Buffalo Trace Antiques are perhaps the best bourbons I have ever had. Those prices are double msrp on em but I would still pay it.

Place by me lets you pick by how much you have spent there during the year but every 10th pick is a lottery.

Calandro's, Alexander's, and 1 or 2 others in BR do this, but they don't mark up the bottles. They are at cost.

I like the sound of that. Gives loyal patrons the priority, but still a chance for those who want to show up and try to get lucky.

Yea I like that too. The raffle I entered you md have to spend $100 for a single raffle ticket or $50 on the “store select” (knob creek stuff) for two raffle tickets.

Pappy has been pretty bad the last few releases.

Go for some BTAC and the Elmer T Lee
