That's crazy... they are packed where I live in Virginia and I like their pizza

I think people liked their pizza, it was just the convenience factor working against them.

It's a terrible concept imo. If I want to drive to get pizza, I generally don't want to then drive home and wait for it to cook. The pizzas are pretty good but nothing special to go out of your way for, either.

The one I go to was always busy but I learned a long time ago that if you aren't making money it doesn't matter how much you are selling.
Saw this in a Forbes article about the company when surveying franchisees.
Wouldn't do it again: In perhaps the most troubling finding in the survey, over 86% of the surveyed franchisees said they wouldn't open a Papa Murphy's in a new market, with what they know today about the chain's operation. "NEVER!!!" wrote one. "I wouldn't invest a dime," said another.

It's a strange concept if you think about it. A freestanding store that sells take and bake pizzas. Would be better if they set up shop inside a grocery store.

I used to work across the street from one in Denver. We had it a good bit especially on Friday. It was easier than fighting the grocery store crowd. If it was not so close to work I could see it being a hassle.

Most grocery stores around here have take and bake.

Agree, always thought it was a dumb concept. If I want a pizza to take home and bake I'll get a DiGiorno or make it myself. My grandmother and uncle love it and I don't get it.

All the ones by me in the burbs are always packed but i can see why they are closing
For us it works great. A lot of times when im traveling i will go buy one and stick it in the fridge and then that night my wife will just bake it for dinner for her and the kids.
The fact that more grocery stores are doing it plus the emergence of the fast casual pizza places (Blaze, pie 5, etc) this doesnt surprise me.

Well that stinks, live near the one on Corporate and was always a cheap easy meal for a lazy Sunday for $12 for the wife and I

Waitr
Use waitr about once a month and have no complaints. With Papa Murphys we could call our order in, pre heat oven or grill, go pick up pizza, cook and be finished under 30 minutes. Again not the greatest but cheap and easy.

Never understood the allure of that place. Even when it was the hot new thing in town, I always thought it sucked.

Too expensive for what you get
Last time I went I turned around and walked out without buying. With places offering cheap pizza like Costco and Little Caesars what is the point

Good pizza but yeah, shitty concept. If I wanted pizza I am getting some sort of delivery and if its something for the kidos Im hitting up Little Ceasers $5 larges.

We go to the corporate location every Sunday for the cowboy pizza. Looks like I'll have to find a new place to go.

yep
our go-to "don't want to cook tonight" meal is a family sized, thin crust, half thai chicken, half chicken bacon artichoke
$14 and delicious
I hope the Shreveport store doesn't close
