I live in NC and have a hard time finding good smoked sausage and other creole meats.

Smithfield is crap. There are some others around but not very good.

Is there a good online sausage company down there that you guys would recommend me trying out?

Just want some damn good, seasoned, creole sausages to throw on the grill.

Kartchner's ships

Its on my drive from Dallas to BR / New Orleans. I've had it shipped twice, but generally just stock up when i am driving through.

I've had great success with Bourques and Kartchner's

Both of their products are top notch, as well.

I lived in Charlotte for a while, and could often find either Richards or Savoies at Publix.

We've done the Lowe's Food brand Sausage Works but it's not that great.

Not getting any livermush, but I'll tear up some Neeses with extra sage.

their "andouille" is ok but it aint like the real thing. i've found one meat market place here that makes their own andouille that's actually pretty good but that's not helping you in greensboro.

ordering is your best bet.

This. Get some of that sausage/cheese/jalepeno bread while you're ordering.

If they ship, their smoked andouille is the gold standard.

Pretty sure Teets out of Ville Platte ships. Also, highly recommended.

A couple of mass marketed smoked sausages that your grocer may be able to sell are New Orleans Smoked Sausage and Tony Chacheres.

Apparently, I'm one of the few people who don't love Rabideaux's. I think it's okay, but I don't find it has enough smoke flavor for my taste. I've tried it several times. I just grilled some last week and while it was tasty, it was just not smokey enough for me.

I love Kartchner's though.

I live outside of Raleigh and looking for sausage as well. I did find a small place in Angier that has a decent selection but that is a haul for you. Try looking up smaller meat markets in the Greensboro/ Winston Salem area.

bayou choupique,

Do you recall the name of the place in Angier? I work in Raleigh and would love to give it a try.

Thanks so much!
