Never been before I'm guessing? Ever driven down Oak? It barely fits two cars.

Parts of the streets were at a standstill during the peak hours. When strollers tried to push their way through, you could hear everyone grumbling. It had to be a pain for the parents.

It's not like Jazz Fest or FQF were there is ample room for everyone.

you obviously don't have kids...

the only time the stroller (double stroller at that) was a problem for us was when we were leaving and came back up by dante... but we were slowed down just like everybody else

seriously, whining about strollers being in your way is pathetic... how can you let something like that bother you in such a great environment like today...

I've been getting my haircut on Oak Street my whole life.

Lester

It is residential on either side of Oak and across Carrolton it is all residential.

Once again, I find it inconsiderate that you are basically saying, "get a babysitter or don't come."

I doubt it matters much as I am sure they will push even harder to move it next year.

pathetic?

If you say so my man.

I think its more pathetic that you got so offended.

did any strollers roll over your feet or up the back of your leg?

Like i said, that happened to me all day. and I just rolled with it(no pun intended). It didn't ruin my day at all. I was there for 5 hours. I walked the whole street. I bought 7-8 different types of food by myself.

I doubt you got rolled by any strollers since you were clearing a path with your own. We can stop talking about this now, let the thread get back on track with the great po boy's people experienced today.

as i said, im sure the people with the strollers had it worse than I did. And im sure they will probably leave the kids at home next time or they wont come.

seriously, unless you were there, you really have no idea what I am talking about.

zilla getting offended just prolonged me talking about it, making it sound like it ruined my day.. It really didnt bother me that much, but people that roll over your legs and feet with strollers and dont apologize or acknowledge you is pretty messed up. If there was one negative in my experience today, it was that. Bottom line is, we dont have to talk about it. I didnt know Zilla would get his panties in a bunch

yes Lester, I did find your comment offensive...as much as possible for an anonymous internet food board...

Got some garbage BLT thing from Palace and the crab from Ninja which was great (and agree about the strollers but not enough to dive into this disaster ).

If I see you at the Po Boy Fest next year, I'm gonna bump into you with my stroller and throw a poo poo diaper at you.

I had Ninja's Soft-shell crab poyboy. Just plain awesome. And well worth the price considering other options were slightly less and half the size.

I had a shrimp remoulade with an out of towner too, figured they would go simple. Good stuff.

By the way my brother won again this year
Best seafood-smoked fish poboy
best Pork-boucherie poboy
Grand Isle Restaurant
Last year-best in show-shrimp caminada poboy
Year before-best seafood-alligator sausage poboy
Judged said they were right behind the lobster poboy for best in show. Congrats to my little bro.

My friends were joking about bringing strollers next year just so they could push through the crowd

Yeah we were standing by Ninja watching the crowd move and laughing as these people would come down the street with their "human plows."

Po-boys
1- pork belly from mahoney's
2- lobster from gw's
3- pork from Dante's
4- grits & grillades from le citron

I avoided grande isle for the sole fact that the most annoying person I encountered was screaming for people to go there. If she wouldn't have pissed me off, there was a good shot I would have tried it out.

So packed as to be unpleasant. Whoever compared it to the Quarter on Mardi Gras day is right - that's the only comparison I've ever seen.

And as someone who was stupid enough to try to bring a stroller, I agree with Lester.

We got there at 2 and it was ridiculous. The problem is my wife is too polite. If I had been the one driving the stroller I'd have had no problem running over slacknuts like LE to get where I'm going, but's she's just too nice.

problem with my stoller is my kid's feet stick out the front... so I'd be pushing her into dirty trash like LE
