NYC food recommendations

Wife and I headed up to NYC in October. Went recently with our kids and really didn’t hit any nice restaurants on that trip.
Looking for recommendations on a really good steakhouse for one night. Maybe a good Italian spot for dinner one night. And of course any good hole in the wall spots.
Any help is appreciated!

Went 2 weeks ago. We really enjoyed Aunt Jake's for Italian. They make their pasta at the counter right in front of you. You can basically create your own pasta dish from a incredible list of house made pastas and sauces. Really solid place. We also ate some pretty good Cuban at a place called Victor's. It's a white tablecloth place and it's near some of the theaters, so it was tasty and convenient.

Not a steakhouse or Italian, but I'd highly recommend checking out Le Coucou. One of the best meals of my life.
The brunch at Cosme is fantastic.
If you and the wife would like a nice dinner out that's not a steakhouse, look at The River Cafe in Brooklyn. The views are incredible.

Keen's is a good steakhouse with a great atmosphere.

Hole in the wall rec.
Totto Ramen Hell's Kitchen.
If you like ramen, this place is a must. They spend days making their pork and chicken broth, and squeeze it through a cheese cloth before serving.
It's not a fancy locale, but if you're looking for a good ramen and beer, this is your place.

Steaks - I like Keen's but I like Spark's better. Peter Luger's is great but way out of the way and your wife may not appreciate it as much as you will.
If you're adventurous and don't mind a casual wait then Sake Bar Hagi 46 is an awesome and really moderately priced izakaya in Midtown West.
I love Milos also, but it will hurt the wallet. Quite a scene.

Go browse around in Eataly. On 5th Ave. right by the Flatiron Building.
They have fantastic meat, fish, olive oils, etc. that make it worth a visit to look around even if not buying. They have several food stations for pasta, breakfast, pizza, raw bar, etc. The pasta dishes and gelato are terrific.

There's a second Eataly by the WTC now as well.
Eataly is great, but I'd probably steer him to somewhere like Rubirosa in NOLITA before sending him to a place that is starting to pop up all over the country.
That being said, I fricking love Eataly.

Babbo Ristorante on Waverly could be the best meal I’ve ever had.
Edit: Also, I’d recommend checking out Toro NYC in Chelsea. Spanish Tapas and a fun atmosphere

Eataly is amazing but safe to skip if you’ve been before or travel to other cities where there are locations.
If not, definitely worth the trip.
