Agreed.. that's why I didn't give it a rec. But I stay in the area when I'm in Manhattan and pop in often. I like the staff there, too. They're usually very cool to talk to when they're not slammed busy.
Arthur Avenue in the Bronx is also fun to check out for a day trip, do some food shopping and get coffee. I hang out at Prince Coffee and get my caffein buzz on before hittin up the shops and restaurants. The people watching at Prince is like Ocean drive in Miami, except it's the Bronx.. a totally different world out there.

Maybe a good Italian spot for dinner one night. And of course any good hole in the wall spots.

Aunt Jakes in Little Italy.

Per the boards suggestions my wife and I ate at Cosme and Grammercy Tavern. Make reservations to those places right now!

Of the 2 places we went, we enjoyed the food and ambiance of Grammercy Tavern more.

I love this place. The mutton chop is amazing, just bring your appetite.

Gallagher's is a great steakhouse.

Delmonico's is the oldest fine dining restaurant in the country, and its bangin'.

I like Benito One in Little Italy for a lunch spot.

I always recommend the Manhattan Clam Chowder at the Grand Central Oyster Bar. It's a go to spot everytime I go to NYC.

Go to Rudy's bar for $3 Budweiser bottles and free hot dogs.

Any place in Chinatown and Little Italy you can't go wrong.

I might be up there in October as well.

I always go to La Mela in Little Italy when I go to NYC. Watch for "Butch the Hat" if you go there.

Delmonicos is fantastic for steak. Becco was good for Italian.
