Spending a couple nights in Covington at the end of the month. Have reservations at Tchefuncte's one night. Was looking at Del Porto, but got mixed reviews about that one. Some of my friends are recommending OxLot, but I'm worried it may be too similar to Tchefuncte's.
Any personal recommendations for brunch/dinner? Will probably eat at Bear's for lunch.

Head to the mandeville lakefront. Hit up old rail or barley oak for some beers. Then walk to the lake house, rest a while, or Rips for dinner or lunch.

its Pats restaurant so you know it is good. The place is really nice. great outdoor area with a bar and the balcony is a nice place to have a drink on the rocking chairs. we loved it.

I would definitely hit Gallagher's one of the nights for a steak. Personally, I am more of a fan of the 527 location in Mandeville over Covington simply due to the atmosphere. The food is incredible at either location, however.
If you feel up for a drive, make it over to Lacombe to Sal n Judy's for Italian. It is a short 15 to 20 minute drive from downtown Covington. I would do this over Del Porto, being Sal n Judy's is the best Italian cuisine in the state.
Chimes for beer/ bar with a quality menu. If you see Nora at the bar...

They’re only doing carry-out right now. Not sure when they’ll open the indoor seating back up.

Forks and Corks does a good brunch or dinner... nice place as well.
Meribo is always a good dinner option as well, and daily Happy Hour deals if you are looking to booze. Oxlot has a nice Sunday brunch.

oxlot 9 is the better choice between those two.
its fantastic, and the service is top notch.
del porto is likewise excellent if you are in the mood for italian. the service can be a little cold but the food is great

Ox lot is great for lunch or dinner. Del Porto is very average food with cold service and a hefty price tag. Sal and judys is great Italian and dichristinas is great too just more casual than Sal and judys. Lola is a good place as well. Lizs where yat is probably the best brunch I’ve ever had.

They are really good (great deserts as well), but they don't brunch and only do dinner on weekends.
Great weekday lunch specials tho!

I've never had a bad meal at New Orleans Food and Spirits. The Voodoo Rolls are really good as an appetizer.

Dakotas
They had good value for lunch at least a little while ago. Not sure if they still do a lunch service.

Underrated place if you’re in the mood for seafood especially fried
I’ll add Hambone

Screw them.
Nuvolari's is another underrated place imo

Marcello’s. Ox lot, Lola. Mattina Bella for breakfast. Gallagher’s if you want steak/seafood. New Orleans food and Meribo for casual.

Covington- Lola, oxlot
Mandeville - pardos or Gallagher’s. Something more laid back try nuvolaris.
Breakfast try lalou or mattina Bella. Lizs isn’t what it used to be.
Lake house is ok. been there twice last month
