Nor-Joe owner Mark Subervielle confirmed the deli’s new home would still be in Metairie, now on Veterans Boulevard, but said he wasn’t ready to announce the address.
What a butthole....

There’s some kind of reno going on at Vets and Papworth on the Dorignac’s side of Vets. Don’t know anything but it isn’t far from their OM location

I know Fausto's is/was doing a renovation in that area.. Even the busy bodies on the neighborhood facebook page don't know..

Not Fausto’s. In between Puccino’s and the Circle K

I anyways put NorJoe muffs over central grocery but think Parentons are the best.

It's expensive on metairie road too.

Because every Italian knows how to make ricotta.
Milk, cream, salt heat to 180ish. Add a teaspoon or two of vinegar of lemon juice then strain.
It's the easiest cheese to make.

I've had better muffs from a Grocery Store. I don't get the hype

I saw some online social media post
Some folks on the Old Metairie Facebook group were claiming they were having major problems 3-5 months ago and didn’t pay a few of the workers.
Not sure if this is true.

I too went in looking for stuff to make homemade pizzas. (Fresh mozz, 00 flour, pepperoni, San marzano tomato’s, etc). They had none to very limited options. I was pretty disappointed for an Italian specialty store… the muff is pretty good but they need to focus more on the grocery side if they are going to claim that imo

The ole metry rumor mill places it at royal China, which is slated to close.
I was there Saturday. It was like a Soviet Russian grocery store circa 1988. I am sad they are leaving the OM, but happy they aren't just closing.

That place seems like it’s gotta be pretty nasty.
Can’t figure how it’s an upgrade or what all it might take to even be viable for their purposes.
The Old Metairie spot has been very sadly sparse for some time, but the space itself always seemed perfect.

It kind of speaks to most Metairie establishments as a whole. Are there any places in Metairie that are able to age with charm? Maybe a few of the old poor boy shops, but this certainly isn’t one of those old, charming places.

Pretty sure royal china is already closed, they are doing work on that building too. Could be Nor Joe

Anybody hear anything on when they may be reopening?

Here is what I found. Shortly after the Nor-Joe closing, a post on one of the business brokers sites said. A unique food business for sale for $2.5 million or looking for investors. Mentioned about looking to expand 2-3 locations in the metro area and have food items expanded into grocery stores to sell. The listing listed the square footage which when you look up Nor Joe site on Zillow, it was the exact same sq ft of space. The listing was listed also by the same guy who owned Nor-Joe’s. My guess, it’s gone at least for now.
