These days, I'm starting to wonder if double dry hopped automatically means $10-12 for a 4-pack.

Educate yourself on the brewing process and costs of hops before you wonder out loud please

And may God have mercy on your soul if you ever admit to actually enjoying a clear IPA on a public forum, because "we" don't take kindly to that here.

I don't recall anyone blasting someone for liking a west coast style IPA. I think it's just that as a whole, NE style is preferred.

Well, it's probably also left up to the brewery about what they mean by "double dry hopped". Hell, i heard a miller lite commercial a couple years ago that claimed it was "dry hopped".

It means they use double the amount of dry hops as they usually do.

Now, how many dry hops they usually use is up to them in the first place.

I've had hazy IPAs that weren't any good and crystal clear IPAs that were amazing. I generally trend toward the hazy stuff, but there's a faction that turns their noses up at anything you can see through. Good beer is good beer.

The 004 is a damn good beer in my opinion. I've been told by 2 of the bartenders at the taproom on 2 separate occasions that 004 will be replacing Mecha as a regular. Huge improvement over Mecha.

Great news because I find mecha underwhelming.

It definitely has an amber hue to it that they are attempting to brighten with the filter. That generally makes me wary, but I'll still give it a chance. If it's good, it's good.

I tried Syncopation last night. It is definitely maltier than the en vogue ales from Great Raft and Parish. It's perfectly drinkable but not special in any way IMO. It's significantly better than Hopitoulas though and that's a major step in the right direction.
