I’d bet my bottom dollar Bearcat will.
Could’ve been a momentary lapse but their sister restaurant, Le Chat Noir, didn’t ask us for vaccine card last Friday.

what are your thoughts on the smoking ban in restaurants?
a lot of people are all about allowing restaurants do their thing until it comes to smoking.
People should have the right to do whatever they want, as long as it does not impact the people around them.
Smoking impacts the people around them.
Also the smoking ban in restaurants is a state ban. The smoking ban in bars is a city ban.

It will last about a week until they realize no one is coming.
Over the years I've worked with a number of restaurant owners / chefs.
Most of them are freaking terrible businesspeople. They are far more concerned about "their craft" or "what people think about them" then they are about making enough money to pay the bills.

literally the same argument for the mask/vaccine mandates

When two individual rights run counter to each other, we are going to always have these problems, and I think the only fair solution is to side with the right that more people are trying to exercise.

yea if mask and vaccines actually prevented people from getting and spreading the virus

It was the same argument pushed by some.
However, those people were incorrect and did not understand the argument they were trying to make.
The mask thing wasn't supported by science, second hand smoke is. Further, there is a noxious odor produced by smoke, that is not produced by one having COVID.
And the vax mandate was totally bonkers. Me being vaxxed effects me, it has nothing to do with you.

Do we have a list?
If a business wants to enforce it, cool.
Even without seeing a list, I'm pretty confident that the places enforcing this, are not places I usually visit or want to visit =)

It was the entire logic behind the mandates
The fact is that you don't have to go into an establishment that allows smoking, therefore it is not impeding on anyone's rights
comparing the smoking ban to the mask/vaccine mandates is completely applicable

you missed the point entirely

Ahh, but I have the right to go into that establishment.
Just like the smoker has the right to go into that establishment.
But the smoker does not have the right to ruin the use of my establishment.

It was the stated reason. It was not, and never will be, logical.

which is bullshite

wow...who said it was your establishment?

logic says that I should be able to make my own rules on my own property
Posted on 3/23/22 at 2:09 pm to Fun Bunch
The patrons that frequent these places love that they have decided to keep them, it’s not some huge loss

Poor wording.
Should have said... "but the smoker does not have the right to ruin my use of the establishment"
I put "my" and "the" in the wrong spots. My bad.

To an extent I agree. Rules =/= laws, though.
Do you think you should be able to serve alcohol to 11 year olds, because it's your property?
Do you think you should be able to sell hereon, because it's your property?

If the establishment says "we allow smoking here" and you still choose to go into that establishment, that is on you

I believe everyone has a line or age in which one is capable of making their own decisions. I'm not going to debate child laws and age of consent.

Yes, absolutely.

FYI, bans on "secondhand smoke" aren't supported by science, either.

This is absolutely correct. Its' why restaurants have such a high failure rate. I can't stand restaurants that are so worried about craft and impression but can't get a good meal out to you in a timely fashion.

I see they also have a 20% tip included for all parties. Bold strategy
That is necessary imo. Parties tend not to tip well. Parties aren't much of a money maker anyways. They chew up tables for at least twice the time of a normal.cover. I can turn those over another time and make way more money and have less complaints

I took it to mean all customers. Not just big tables
