Going to New Orleans, haven’t been in 6-7 years or so. Shaya’s was the hip new restaurant at that time (before the Chef’s falling out/name of restaurant drama). Any new restaurants worth trying out? Any old standby’s that have gone downhill recently? Not looking for super fancy white table cloth places, unless they’re outstanding. Also need some good lunch recs.

If you liked Shaya you can try his Miss River Restaurant in the Four Seasons Hotel.

I’m doing the same thing. I landed on Gris Gris for dinner one night - I’ve heard great things.

Also doing Sylvain for brunch. It’s been around a while, but it’s always great.

Yes. I live a block away and it is one place that absolutely lives up to the hype. Check out N7 as well.

I was going to do Vincent’s on my last night. I used to live in the neighborhood and that was always a favorite. Sounds like I should consider the switch to Costera though.

Never made it to N7 either, although I’ve always wanted to

Yes. Solid happy hour too.

One I haven’t seen mentioned: Le Chat Noir. It is a bit more upscale casual, but everything we had was phenomenal.

Need some lunch spots walking distance to the convention center. Is Couchon Butcher still solid? Any other recs?

Miss River isn’t a spot I’d to hit if you haven’t ate in New Orleans in 6-7 years imo

Be very careful in New Orleans. Always be aware of who is around you. There is a lot of car windows busted out,car jackings and robberies. Enjoy your meal.

Is Mais Arepas worth a lunch visit? Is Luke still a solid lunch option? Both appear walkable during the limited time for lunches.

Is Blue Oak worth a visit if you are coming from a place with good BBQ? Is it great BBQ or just best BBQ in NOLA good?

I don’t know the first joint. Luke is as good as it always was. I enjoy it. My family in town enjoy Blue Oak, though I haven’t been.

Meeting friends who are local there. Wasn’t my first choice but they haven’t been yet and wanted to go.

Is Mr. B’s still good?

Had a few really good meals at Mr B’s last year. It’s what you remember.
